I remember reading an very pertinent article on the presnt trend of "Poila Boishak" being kept alive among Bengalis by only the haal-khata-binders and butchers !!! |

excellent poem, but how can you miss poila boisakh march past. for me that is the most nostalgic thing about the day. we were part of kristi vivek troop aka running bullet. every year we used to win it. the tussle between school & club to get our participation on that day used to make us feel like big footballers in the transfer season. wont forget that we used to line up in the middle of the ground taking the wrath of the sun & sangeet vidyalaya singing "esho e boisakh" from under the shed. also the food they used to serve in the vyam vidyalaya lawn. also how can we forget the charak puja the day before. you all will agree with me that those were the days. we were so passionate about this march past that once i took part after taking 3 salines the day before suffering from jaundice and nabarun aka mula aka naga taking part after fainting in the ground. |

very very nice....but the point is,you dont miss all the things about home unless you are far away from it,which of course makes the poem above all the more good.carry on with the good work.wish i could add something more eloquent....but its a no contest anyway.shine on. |
