Technical Architect
Description
Technical Architect provides the technical vision and develops the high-level architecture for software products. The person provides technical leadership to the ODC team and is the final authority to take critical technology decisions. Technical Architect is part of the ODC management to manage the scope and estimate and plan release schedules.
Responsibilities
· Work closely with Engineering lead, Product Management and other members of the customers’ team
· Communicate with people at all levels of the customer organization. Articulate technical system architectures to both technical and non-technical personnel.
· Develop and maintain architecture level technical descriptions and models; develop application module architecture, application integration architecture.
· Ensure development of appropriate data model to support the product features
· Ensure that the product being developed meets the business process requirements
· Drive the architecture finalization sessions, keeping in view multi-site development requirements; Participate in finalizing the appropriate development model
· Planning and estimation of software development lifecycle
· Set/Ensure that standards are consistently followed during the entire SDLC along with Release Manager
· Carry out activities to position the organization as a thought leader in use of technology; assist in business development work for the organization
· Part of the Change management process
· Act as a trusted advisor to the customer on the overall technical direction of the product with respect to the competition
Requirements
· BE/B.Tech / M.Tech in Electronics/Computer Science or MCA from reputed institution
· 6+ years of relevant experience
· Demonstrated ability to architect, design and develop complex and scalable, distributed object based enterprise software applications using J2EE, Microsoft and XML technologies
· Mastery in OOAD using current modeling tools and techniques like Rational Rose, UML
· Ability to design, develop and negotiate application development issues with internal and customer resources
· Ability to define and defend complex enterprise class application software architecture
· Experience in leading architecture and software development teams for enterprise class products
· Self motivated, pro-active, initiative to learn and show high levels of creativity and innovation to evangelize new ideas
· Good exposure to full cycle software development processes
· Experience with web servers, application servers, legacy systems integration
· Exposure to definition and/or application of Quality Assurance processes on large software development projects
· Exposure to enterprise applications in ERP, CRM, SCM and BI domains
· Expertise in application integration tools and techniques - Publish/Subscribe, Message oriented middleware, XML (MQ-Series, Tibco, WebMethods)
· Mastery of Object to relational mapping concepts, High-availability application architectures, Clustering technologies, Application and System security models
· Should possess excellent problem solving capability and ability to approach problems in a thoughtful and practical manner
· Good Communication skills
· Should have reasonable amount of expertise in security architectures/ implementations, systems to provide flexible and configurable AAA (authorization, authentication and accounting) functions, and security for n-tier applications; integration with third party security packages and tools, partition architectures based on security requirements at various layers
· Expertise in use of encryption technologies, protocols like HTTPS, SSL, S/MIME, concept and application of PKI
· Mastery over Internet technologies including HTTP, SMTP, MIME, LDAP protocols
· Experience required 8 - 10 yrs
Project Lead
Educational Qualification
· BE/ BTech (Preferably Computer Science/ Electronics & Communication)
· Masters in CS
Experience of 4 - 7 years in
· Relational database is a must (Oracle/ DB2/ Sybase/ Informix/ MS-SQL/MS-Access)
· Programming languages VB/C/C++/Java.
· Performed requirement analysis, systems analysis, data modelling and statistical analysis & interpretation.
· Hands on experience in database tools (Designer 2000/ERWin), Data Warehousing/OLAP/Data Mining/Statistics (e.g., Hyperion Essbase, Cognos, Business objects, Intelligent Miner, SAS) is a must.

Software Engineer/ Sr. Software Engineer / Team Lead
Description
Software Engineer/ Sr. Software Engineer is responsible for the design, development, integration, testing and maintenance activities as part of the ODC team.
Responsibilities
· Design, develop, test and maintain software and deliver high quality deliverables
· Participate in the construction and integration of software components into the product to facilitate and maximize functionality and performance
· Adhere to standards and use best practices in software development. Persons leading design and development teams will have the added responsibility to ensure adherence to agreed development standards and provide technical guidance to the team.
Team Lead
· Team Leads are responsible for software builds
· Lead teams in design and development of new features and enhancements, manage day-to-day design and development processes, making crucial technical decisions pertaining to the assigned area of work
· Help in managing scope and estimation of release schedules; work with the release manager and architect to ensure that release schedules are met.
Requirements
· BE/B.Tech / MCA from reputed institution
· Development experience in C++/Java/Microsoft related technologies (J2EE/.NET and constituent technologies) on multiple development environments (Unix, NT)
· Hands on experience in DHTML, JavaScript, ASP, CSS
· Development experience in as many as possible of: CORBA, DCOM, message oriented middleware, publish/subscribe, application servers and transaction processing monitors, networking (TCP/IP), web user interfaces
· Hands on experience in developing enterprise software applications
· Exposure to full SDLC essential and product development desirable

QA Engineer / Lead
Description
The QA Engineer is responsible for testing the software under development. He ensures that the functionality, performance, integration and usability of the software meet with the customer requirements. This is an advanced and responsible position within the ODC.
Responsibilities
· Execute and maintain test cases, manual and automated test procedures, that ensures highest international quality products
· Provide visibility and management control into the quality process by providing clear and concise problem reports, timely and accurate escalation of problems
· Installation, configuration and maintenance of hardware, software and networking tools for the test environments
Lead
· Execute and maintain test plan
· Continuously improve, deploy and ensure compliance to quality assurance processes in order to deliver high quality products in conjunction with the Release Manager, Product Manager and Architect
· Responsible as the gatekeeper while releasing the deliverables to ensure quality
· initiating and implementing process improvements at the project level
· Responsible for managing test teams to deliver on quality goals.
Requirements
· Exposure to multiple testing strategies as in white box, black box, regression, integration , performance testing etc
· Good experience with designing test cases
· Hands on knowledge in developing scripts and custom drivers for testing.
· Very good knowledge in the testing tools like Winrunner, Loadrunner ,Test director,Silk test etc.

hello guest1, thanks for visiting the farfence site. yes - farfence (or durer bera :) ) is a family partnership company based in adelaide, australia founded in jan, '02 by my wife and i. the present clients are in semiconductor industry (in taiwan and singapore) and we mainly do software consultancy for them. the "training" and "placement services" are very much on the wish-list so far :) :)

Thanks for the response. Good to know that poeple from Silchar are founding companies in Bangalore . As you said you are working for semiconductor companies in Tiwan . Can you tell me a little bit about the type of software you are writing for them...Or is it a company secret ?
Actually I am associated with CPU circuit design and reliability varification for Intel Corp , We use lots of softwares from the vendors. In futue I also have plans for having my own firm. I am very much interested to knowthe type pf work that you are doing.
