Jhulan puja….mono aase ni ?(must be an endangered species to so many borak valleites) Started yesterday……I remember it every year since I am out of silchar with a slice of sadness.
u can not share ur those feelings with anybody in ur workplace (unless ur langotia bondhu is in ur company or u’ve imported ur girlfried to ur city, provided she understands),
Though u’ll take part in the discussions in ur office on India’s incraesing forex reserve, boundless avenues in BPOs, lara and sachin, sharukh’s back problem, mystries behind pamela anderson and silicon….i mean silicon valley,
but u know that U R AN ALONE MAN and u do miss those jhulan days with sad mood.
The preparation for the event, the tension whether u’ll get the best SHAOLA from the queerest of places, invstigation with the local database holders for the freshest lota pata, krishno chura, radhachura gacher daal aar pata, all types of phool......gondhoraaj.....golap......shiuli.....aar poddo phool (bodo pukur takia sharirik kosto aar manoshik creativity apply koria) ekta ba duita paoa jaaito.........
jhulon puja with lots of shaola collection (investigative team ey purana bari, porityakto walls etc takia khujia baair korto....source aaasil.....bhanga tin loha plastic wala ra......
aar balupathor.....road....bridge....ghor...bari banani...prosad....gaan...tuni bulb....puja...purana terpal er tukra dia pahar...lafani...jahpani....aaar boobie ? remember?....tok misti boobie... :P

great topic. all the words & sentences in krishanu's posting seemed so real as we also have the same memories. this year during my trip to silchar in a nostalgic adda the topic of jhulan came up, a friend then said "now jhulan phulan is part of history.only people who does it are some kids from class 6 & 7 and on the last day they buy alcohol with the pranami and thats why they do it. other children are now busy with video games,little older children with blue films & the teenagers with valentines day and all other days."same applies to mera meri,laxmi purnimar ratrer churi and other small but significant festivals. i am sure these are now part of history. :'( |

There's a place called Abids here in Hyd. Now, I had gone there yesterday for some work. As I planned to come back home I saw, lots of policemen and all vehicles were stopped. What nuisance! , I was wondering if some VIP were to pass by as it usually happens, throwing all traffic in a disarray...And as I was thinking thus, there indeed was a VIP, a super VIP for that matter... It was the rath of Lord Jagannath brought out by the local chapter of ISCON ... What a feeling! What a sight ... It was my first view of rathyatra after 8 long years...Sublime!!! :) |

Yeah !! Still remeber those days where I and my elder brother Used to make miniature mountains out of Sand and used to fill them with al our toys !! And of course the Engineering we had to carry out to position Radha Krishna in a Jhoola ...Some gud sdays were they !!

Hi everybody.This is my first visit to silchar.com and I find this place very intresting. Though I am born in west bengal but brought up in Assam,Halflong.
I like this jhulon puja topic very much.Really we have gone through so many such golden moments in our life.I like the posting so much.Soul touching.
These days I am studing biotechnology in Hyderbad, and believe me all the sylehti people from our institute really like silchar.com |

amar ekta chotto request aase. sylehti people are residing outside silchar also.But u r only concentrating on silchar.
