as generations of students will qualify,they just dont make teachers as they used to.where are all the good ones gone?even the diminutive ma'am dasgupta(she taught bio,of course) has now preffered to migrate to cambridge(the one at meherpur,of course).... |

my first posting should serve as an adequate appraisal of my motive and the fundamental basis of the thread..going down the drain is a figurative expression which tries to emphasise my opinion that holy cross school, silchar has been suffering a gradual decline in academic and other related standards among both the faculty and the student community.i must emphasise that this is not a concrete statement,but hopefully a forum for further debate and discussion. |

:) :)btw...for those who have not been in silchar for a long long time..the good 'ol hall has been demolished...a new cocncrete monstrosity has come up..possibly,im not sure..bigger than district library. jai houk,buildingtar shamne ekta bishal jishur statue lagani hoise..keeping his benevolent eye on the school.. 8)...... |

It was wonderful to know about holy cross.In fact some might recognise me...frankly speaking I know every seniors face (7-8 years)and juniors (by 2-3 years) . Rupamda,laishramda,premasishda,jimutda..were some of the rare jewels of our school.Rupamda might be in Bhubaneshwar and jimutda in ghy...all fine..but any idea where is jimutda after Joka.
As for H.C.S detoriating with passing day..I really do not know.Haven't visited school in a year or so.But, lot of teachers from those golden eras like Roseceline madam,Dasgupta madam.mitalli madam r no longer there.Gone r the days of madam andrews and the wonderful.. our very own madam ghosh who used to make all the "naughty chaps" stay outside her class.
Those were some wonderful days.Holy Cross will forever beckon me wherever I am.I have spent 12 beautiful years there...and I will forever remember those wonderful days.Hail holy Cross.May the light shine.
