the last assembly elections were fought in the states on the issue of development which is very welcome. now that the lok sabha elections are knocking the door what issue we silcharites and karimganjis want to highlight? lets have ur comments on ur selection of candidates to the whole range of issues. i know many of us dont like the politics & politicians but still they r the ones even if we dont want to dictate the policies. lets bring it to their atention. |

howsoever we might desire it to be otherwise, LS election in Silchar will this time also be fought on the grounds of religious calculations more than on anything else. I know it is hard to digest this pessimistic view, but being from one of the most politically enthusiastic regions of Silchar, and having once dirtied my hands in LS road- campaigning, I strongly believe this year will be no different.
Development issues, economic issues will take a backseat. Though the sloganeering will be on those grounds, at the end of the day, it will yetagain boil down to calculations of which religion will vote 'en bloc' for which candidate. I will be happy if I am proved wrong. |

Good Thread....
Development should be "THE ISSUE".. Lots of promises been made before that.. but no implementations... RAILS/ROADS/AIR..what it was before 10 yrs is still the same..Kaku Jetu kuno kamal dekai te par la na. This year lets hope that one of them could do somthing regarding that... |
