NEW DELHI: In a comedy of errors at the Indira Gandhi Airport here, Congress workers on Wednesday garlanded Kashmiri separatist leader Shabir Shah shouting slogans like "bharat mata ki jai" and "desh ka laal, tujhe salam".
The Congress workers, who had come to receive cinestar-turned-MP Sunil Dutt, were unaware as to who had come out of the departure lounge as reporters surrounded Shah for his comments on the Kashmir problem.
As Shah finished his brief interaction with the media and walked through the ramp of the departure lounge, Congress workers garlanded him and showered rose petals amidst slogans in praise of his "commitment" to the nation.
A surprised Shah maintained a smile on his face as he walked past hundreds of Congress workers who had gathered to receive Dutt, who was returning from Srinagar where he concluded his Sadbhawana Yatra from the Golden Temple to the Hazratbal Shrine.
An embarrassed Shah evaded reporters after the comedy of errors and boarded a car. |
