as of now the award goes to newbie soma,posts 1..whos got a fata fati logo and gave rise to this idea..see her logo in the weird 'e-girls..dress..etc.' thread,page3.
added by admin : the logo in that post was originally used by Himadri and as per his request I have added it to the pool of logs/icons at the MahaAdda. |

to have your own logo you have to register on the mahaadda..which is very simple..just look for the icon somewhere above..once you register,you will be given a choice of default logos,,eg jimutda's fred,and a few others.you can, oif course,choose an image you like from the net and make it your logo..(.eg my mug of hendrix.)..you can do that as well while you register yourself.happy hunting! |

if you try to put a 300kb picture in there you oaf you are bound to fail..try 4 to 10 kb instead. |

You folks seem to be lost for pictures.Well the ideal size ud be 1.5-2 KB.Put that in jpeg format if lots of colors are there else go for gif :).Have a look at MS-Office gallery |

i was trying to upload a 5 mb pic ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D thats what happens when a computer illiterate tries to do such things.
now i want some more info like
can i upload a pic from my hard disk, if not then how do i get the link in the field mentioned. moreover in any web page there r a lot of pics. and even when i open that pic in a diff window i get some material along with that pic. so what i want is the pic only.
can u help me get the pic i want. and remember u talking to a computer illiterate. so u might have to explain with examples ;D ;D ;D |

i cannot claim to be much of a techie meself....but you dont have to look around for long before you find an engineer or techie on silchar.com :).....i'm sure they can help.try mailing admin.
ps-what i did was quite simple...went to google image search..searched for hendrix..looked around a bit..found an image with suitable size..opened the link seperately..and cut and pasted the address.you can try it,just might work.
pps- if you ever need any help on shakespeare,keats and other guys like them..youknow whom to contact... :) |

Linux is an OS for the Campus and not for business.Actually there r not 2 many products,service providers and end to end solutions on Linux till date.MS has it all :)
