Hi folks
The world around us is changing so fast that we sometimes find it dificult to keep pace.
But the moment one lands in silchar one gets the feeling that our dear old place has not changed in the least.
Apart from a few cosmetic changes, the lack of change is most apparent in the economic sphere. A few new cybercafes, a few new shops and so on but nothing that really cahnges anything.
Yes the Northeast is backward as a whole for different reasons, but still it is developing, may be at a slow pace, but developing nonethe less.
Silchar and the Barak Valley has many advantages, relatively peacefull, Border with Bangladesh, at the junction of three states, a good number of academic institutions and so on.......... Yet it is not developing.
After all whats the problem...? I am at a loss.... has it got something to do with our mindse?
What do you feel folks? |

Hi, I guess the appropiate topic can be,"How can WE make Silchar a better place to live in??" Well,it's you and me who has to do it;right!!! I mean all the people in silchar have to do it.. If we ourself start asking questions then development in silchar is next to impossible...
You say that Silchar lacks economic investment and that's true.. Will you as a entrepreneur like to invest in silchar in this present situation?? Why we think about cosmetic changes when the basic itself is not available.. Do we have proper roads, electricity and Water?? The three basic things needed for survival of both humans and industries are not available... Do we have it??? The answer is known to all of us... In this scenerio,I am very happy that at least a few internet centers are avialable now...
You say Silchar is at junction of three states but look at the condition of those states.... They are highly indebted to central govornment with no production of thier own.. What sort of business can you have with those state and earn revenue??? This I told thinking we have some industries of our own in future... Don't tell Capital travels as our future transport industry(Just kidding)....
You are true when you say about the existence of various colleges but these colleges are like a transit camp... People around india come and study here but no one prefers to work here... All the educational institues are very old and roughly 25 years on an average.. It means Silchar is continuosly producing engineers, doctors and scientists since last 25 years with no gains of it's own....
You are also in loss like millions of people there??? If you ask me what is the solution then I don't have any answer ... Only thing what I can say is,"Rome is not built in a day"....
Thanks for all your concerns.. Everyone is concerned...
Have a nice day...
