Welcome all. Just read it, we all passing throug this & don't want to improve, why???????????
I am from Hailakandi Town & staying abroad from 8 years. I like to know about hkd always but no news about our town,dist in any tv, newspaper or in web. So, we have to make it through the web only becaue we have to delovop our dist ,hospitals , roads ,bridge, gardens ,income source. No one will help us to devolop our town,dist only we can do it . We do n't know how many persons are dieing every day in hkd for cencer or for other seekness. Some of our people die because they don't have money to bring the peasent to silchar for minor operation or treatment what is not available in hkd. Why we don't try to do something in our town for all those are created by god.
We are one of educated dist. but what is our education , just for fighting for each other. No, we all created by god for doing some good things in life , to help each other, if u do good people wili remember you after you die & if u don't do good no one will remember you after you die. Life is for a very short period so do well as soon as you can & as much as you can.
We have to try with our political leader to devolop our place. Now we have 2 active leader in Power & they are very broad minded & from big political back ground . Only they can't devolop our motherland we have to show them what they have to do for public febour. If we do co-operation they can change our mother land like other part of Indian big political leaders did. Hospitals,roads,bridges,education centers,etc.
We have 2 major links with Mizoram via Gharmura , Tripura via Aynarkhal or lala & we can devolop our dist like silchar if we do the roads well.If we devolop the roads & make add that Gauwahati is near by 30 km or 40 km if you go via Hkd , then all the vahical start to pass by our motherland , if the vahical start to pass it will bring more business.
One more Major things we can do, it will be a record in Indai & may be all over the world. We know there is corruption in our area, where we know & i don't want to mention. If we all do a camping & say make corruption free hkd for only 3 years may be we will be the best in the world. Three years is not a big time for corruption makers because they have time to make corruption but if they leave only for 3 years, it will make our dist a dream land.
It should start from one day & from that day every body should stop cheating,
every body should come on time to duty go on time.
after entering the place of job no joke or no westege of time just do the duty without jokes or adda.
help the customer to finish the work & save their time to do other job.
no money will be taken from other source accept the salary.
no donation can be taken from any customer or client accept the govt. fixed fees.
no delay for any file maintaing or any official work. each files should move within minutes like private sectors.
exp; when we want to sale or buy a land , its need 1-2-3 months to get clearence from govt offices & we need to spend money, why, our land & our money so why to spend time & money, all clearence prosidure should finish in one hour , when we go to find any passport why its need 2-3-12 months , its should finish in 1 day. When we go to bank to draw our money why to wait 4-5- hours, when some one finish his job not geting payment from any dept. it should be within 1 day. Why the teachers is not coming to school & not teaching well on time, why there is so many vacations, why the contractors not doing his job well, why our hospitals not clean , why the town is dirty , where is the cleaner , why the letters or percels is not reaching on time, why the Borak Bridge is hanging 24 hours & why jointed by wood where as lakhs of people are passing by the bridge every day & if you see other parts of india you will find there are 4 -3-2 brigges are on same river in good conditions where as we have a single link with guwahati with this bridge & its hanging , why?
we have so many tea gardens but no public park or lake where the people can pass holiday & the babys can play freely. we all have to do one fixed date to stop all corruption for a time of 3 years. If we can do so , we will be the richest. cleanest & good dist in India.
I know its very hard to do but we have to try, i am a poor person but i have a hope to make our Motherland a dreamland. I write to the Rastrapati , P.M & all other authorised big people about the problem of hkd. I hope some one will come out & help us to make our dream true.

dear friends,
good to see that more no of peoples r sharing their thoughts in this thread. well Sahed, i respect ur emotions but as u know its a very tough job. Infact i feel, neither PM, nor President of India, or the two big shots of HKD, can change the cinerio because the main problem with the whole district is the ignorance. What i feel is that a big population of us cant even dream a developed HKD only because they dont know wt does that development means. Many of us have never travelled on a good road, never seen good working conditions in offices, schools, colleges, NGOs, clubs etc. Consequently, we started to believe that the way we live is not bad. Suppose if we ask somebody in HKD that, wt is the normal time require to make a demand draft, then he/she will say that, if u fiil up the form by morning then u r suppose to get the draft by evening or may the next day. We have absolutely excepted these situations and we feel that this the usual way of working whereas if u go to any developed part of the country, the whole procedure will finish within 15/20 mins. these all r my personal feelings and might not be granted to all. So wt i feel is that, first we to dream dreams and then only excecution may be followed up. No more lectures.
Aakash, as wrote earlier i dont belong to the town, the name of my village is Manipur Bagan, near Kathlichora. By the way Sahed, can u plz give ur little introduction, i mean wt do u do? where do u stay?--- bye, stay tuned.

I fell success because in these days i get one response from u means 1+1+1 ........ =999999.... , i hope we can improve our district because we r the one of the most literate dist. We use our brain for just nerrow politics if just we get well guidence we can use our brain for devolopment & we can make hkd as a example in front of Indian all citizen as well in front or the world history.
We all should think we have to do something good which thing will make us present after we die.

Last flood situation we all know. It was too much effected. This time we see our leaders become little active , may be for coming vote or may be they started to think about the people or may be they get worried from god. Any how they dishtribute some relief & also we have to follow where the relief is going. Actually the effected people didnot get enough as the dishtributer get. I say to all its pap, guna for the people who stilling the relief. Now our poor people need help to recultivate their land , rebuilt their house,road & the only fooding income source. As a poor man i help as much as i can & i say all people please help our poors near to u . They don't have food, they are geting ill without medicine.
Guide our leaders proper way to dishtribute the relief to the proper poor people. Our indian govt realese enough fand & if its utalize properly in our district i hope no one poor will face any problem & they will become rich . Utalize the relief properly .
Help the poors & think you are helping your god. You will get the good result in the world & after you die. Don't think this poor is from which religion & he belongs to your religion or not. Just help the poors & get the result from your god.

I am very happy to see this topic suddenly. We have to make one same page for our hkd people who stay abroad & other cities inside India. We can share each other thinking & news.
Tnks sight designer who make this web disign to give us our native news & share our feelings.
I think a lot of hkd people stay in USA,UK,Canada,France, Saudi,UAE, Japan,Russia,etc, Because i meet a lot of families when i trevel i meet International so many Passangers & all working in well positions.
If we can make a web disign like this page we can share each other because i think all our forigner people have personal computers & our babyes also can make some chatting with native peoples & make some friends.
Only the problem is that i see some people use some wrong word & we have to avoid it because we should know the web is opened for all & its for good for knowladge & our babyes ,mothers,fathers,sisters,brothers read it , so we should control ourself & we should share our feeling with child,old & midage all.
I hope to get some message from my hkd & our all barrak velly,assam,indian all people those from Hailakandi & India.

I hope you all will share with my problem & try to solv it. We have a SBI head branch in HKD & they have computer & telephone also, ( proudly we fell ).Total all the bank employees in the world thinking that anybody comes to bank means customer & they respect customer. Our state bank employees thinks that anybody comes to them means he don't have any other way , so harras him/har as much as they can. For any draft or T/T encash you go there they will say come after 15 days-30 days, why???? There is computer ,fax,telephone world is moving in seconds & we are in months. In this time someone may die without medicine,someone can loos his job without money,someone can lost his property but they don't care & if you do more enquary they will shout you & will say you what we can do our system need time. They are layer because they don't want to move from one to other chair the file in one day how they will finish the job. If you go to other banks you will find within a few minutes you finish your work.
Actually our bank or any other office employees they think that they get the job & they will get salary any how , so they are doing what they want.
I find in some places that no tea or Pan can taken in time of duty inside office but our bank is a Adda for employees with Tea & Pan without Job.
I Request higher authority to Improve our Hailakandi SBI Branch Movement .Its killing the People by westing time ,money means fair to come & go for nothing & for the negligency of Bank worker.
Recently i found My one old teacher in Bank & i ask him why you are here in so rush. He said his one son send him a bank draft from other country & without any hasitation bank People says its Zerox copy & send it back to the place from where its come. 15 days after its reach hkd & againg send back 15 days then come back 15 days & the cost who will pay. He was to get it back but i say him to submit it again by force & say them to check it because your son is not a stupid to send a zerox copy. He did that & after 2 week he found the money come to his account. What is that harrasment to the people bank is doing.
Please stop this monupoli business & do some action to this lazy employee those are killing Hindustans image.
Our every offices & employees need Political back push to do any work. From where every innosent people bring political leader with them. Help the people. Some of them don't have money to come in bank, some of them very old & need rest but they stand in bank for nothing there own money 8 hours, some of them leave their job to come. Some of them hardly get the bus fair to come & leave all other work at home & stay without food in town , Why this harrasmaent for their own money.
I request all please stop harrasing people & think all employes geting salary from the money of public so do their work without westing their time,money, life.

I fully Agree with U, I had one personal experience with the SBI HKD branch, I am sharing My two years back experience. I sent one DD to my relative, but the SBI officials refused to accept it because as per them it was supposed to be issued in a different format, I had tried my level best to convience the SBI officials but no body was ready to listen. Later on I approached to the issuying Branch to resolve the issue, here I got a good co- operation from the Pune branch as U ( Mr. Deb ) mentioned here people counts on minutes & seconds not 15/ 30 days. The issuing branch sent intimation to HKD branch to get a official note that XXXX numbered DD was not encased from that branch, but all afforts went in vain, despite of repetead reminder. Later on I signed an aggrement Paper given by Pune branch & withdrawn my Money from Pune only. Thanks to the Pune official & at the same time I feel ashamed of the working culture of the officials in our area, some staffs are co- operating if U have personal relation else U had to be tuned up with their tune only , or U had to shout like anything ( okkokhoto gaala gaali ) then only some one will come forwards & help U..
I feel proudy to be a Hailakandian, but the way some officials works its shameful..
Let us request officials to boostup their working culture, & lets hope things will get smoothen very soon.

There was a Hailakandi local newspaper i remember Purbayan.
Is it still publishing or not . I remember it was in Matujuri Thimatha before 15 years was publishing. If it is still there please let us know & please let us know the websight of that newspaper.
If there is any web sight for that paper we can look at it from any part of world our mother land news.

Its good to see that many peoples have joined the e-thread. Dr. asiti i have read ur posts in many other threads as well, r u from Hailakandi? Unfortunately i dont know anything about the news-papers mentioned by u and Bilal bhai.
Ar ko ba Akash kemon acho? At present jara Hailakandi-t achoin tara doya koria HKD-r khabar update korle khub khusi hoimu.
I have gone through all the posts in this thread and i find almost all of these posts reflects the frustration of we HKD guys regarding the following up of govt. activities in the district. Thats very unfortunate and I too beleive that, it is happening only because of the lack of work culture among we common people and due to misuse of power by some big-shots. We the majority of young peoples of the district don't have the self confidence that we will be able to earn enough money to live our life comfortably without the unofficial helps of some powerful peoples. As a result corruption is seeded right from the begining of our carrier and which carry through out. The officials working in various departments in the district are none other than some of us only. I personaly believe that if the mass population us can generate habit doing hard work then the problems of HKD will no more be a problem and for all valied reasons that responsibilty lies in the young solders of us.
OOPS!! Bahut lecture hoi geche, modhye modhye apnarare bore na korle bhala lage na.

I grew up in Hailakandi and moved to the UK with my parents. My uncles and cousins are still residing there in College Road. Although I was very young at the time I still remember the roads and I go back every now and then for the last 30 years it hasn't changed.
As for official harrassment mentioned. It is not just the working culture of the country but the whole political process that infringe on the rights of the individual. Democracy in its true sense is not exercised and probably cannot be exercised for reasons of polities at play. India has along way to go to put all infrastructure in place in order to counteract corruption, lack of accountability, recruitment process, in- service training, management, customer care, administration etc. One of the reasons that British Raj was so successful was due to their administration procedures. How would they have ruled an enormous country like India with only 6000 British personell present at time? So it is not manpower that creates efficiency but organisation.
The problem with our system is, "there is a way, but there is no will" no leader stands alone and says "I have a dream" these four words changed the fate of America and the dream was built.
Can we do the same? |

Another great news is that your alma mater S.S.College, the pride of Hailakandi has secured a creditable B+ grade by National Assessment and Accredition Council (NAAC).
Regarding the Physics Department of the college, we are trying our level best to upgrade it into one of the best in the North East under the able stewardship of Prof. M.U.Barbhuiyan, the present Head.

I am very happy to know that the hkd sight has been devoloped. May be we can discuss our own problems through the sight only. Because personally no one can talk about anything in Hailakandi because of leaders. They are very strong & they can kill anybody without any reason.
Inside Hailakandi no one can get air without permission of the local leader.Food,job,business,birth ,death, function,party ,roads,devolopment,punishment,corruption etc ... all the things depends on local leaders choice.
I think we deserve this because we are so gentle & so quite.
The new sight is surely ordered by honarable leader so no need to ........................
We need a sight which can make revolution against the current corruption which moving in hailakandi district.

It's simply great to see lots of our friends from our native town is contributing their views on this forum. I am from Hailakandi, I miss all my friends & the simple life style.
