Arko Dutta (india, Reuter) won the 'first prize single' for 'A woman mourns a relative killed in the tsunami'. The photograph is also declared the World Press photo of the year.

Note: We don’t feel good about Tsunami. I have donated a part of my salary for the victim out there. But are proud of Arko Dutta, not because of the creativity and the prize winning angle, the recognition, honour and accolade he gets, but also this photograph by its own incredible creditability will definitely bring more resources to the rehabilitation work in the mainland. |
