I am an ex student of G.C. college and I am proud of it and I am requesting to all present and ex GURUCHARANIAN please
give your comments about our famous college under this topic.

its good to hv a platform like this for the gcian. yeah i miss college, that "kathal gaach" ???
"library veranda", :-X vivek sweets" :-* "splendour" :D"udyog" and everything .
those sweet days won't come back again , the only thing we can do is just ponder upon them,
i miss the moment of bunking from class ???
shortage of attendance and managing them anyhow ;)if i am asked to provide one word for gc college i would say it "gr8'
anyway this much for today

I am happy by reading your letters.I was a student of
chemistry dept.one of the best dept. of G.C.C. I cant forget
the Evergreen KARUNA da and his all time hit actings, I also
dont forget great BIDHAN-da and his "do one expt. and get
common in exam" policy.
Bahute bahutta koin ,kintu sobor katha kano lain na.
Aar je-betar nijor lathir abastha kharap ,BANDARLATHI-r

for introducing the topic.
Lots of people passing from gc college, get chanace in R.E.C
or S.M.C. and after geting chance they try to compare G.C.C.
with their institutes and try to criticise gc college.While comparing they should be aware of the fact that they are
comparing a R.E.C. with a general college. Why dont they compare Silchar R.E.C. with other R.E.c.s or IITs of the country or they afraid of doing so.
At last I can say U G.C.C. is going with its full glory, and
we R very hopefull to our college,which is one of the best
college of Assam.

Sanchita and jui,thanks for writing.sanchita U have made
some good coments and jui U have really remind me those
wonderful days of gc college. about birthday parties I can
still remembar that always U(girls) two-three peoples used
to give your B'day treat combinely, and we realy had to think
how to mannage the gifts for U.Anyway I really miss those
B'day parties and also wish to join similor get together in
future.
Let me to know wheather Ranjit bhat sir is still in the
principal's chair.

Hi Angshuman/Rumela/Sanchita,

You guys are doing a great job. In fact I almost lost touch with Silchar and GCC after 94 (when I passed out). I was a chem hons student too!! When I left Rani madam was the principal. These days I am in New York.

Good to read about GCC from the next gen GCites. The kathal gach there it seems has acquired historic proportions.

Thanks for starting this topic !!! GCC is great - it leaves a lasting impression in your mind ..... I was in Silchar for just 3 yrs - for my TDC... but I can never forget those days.

Keep up the good work.

and present gcans to raed so much of letters under the topic.
I took my admission in G.C.C. in 1996 in H.S. and i left the
college in 2001 after passing B.Sc. In these 5 yrs I got many
people in the principle's chair.On the same date in 1996 our
our freshers welcome and Rani mams farewell meeting was
solemonised.After that We got Shrimonto Dutta sir and
Churamony sir asPrincipal incharge then Dr. P.N.C. became the
principal and after him now Ranjit Bhatt sir is the principal(ic)
of G.C.C.
G.C.C. re khub miss kori. Sabe jodi ourakam G.C.C.'r kotha
lekhte thake te khub bhal lagbo.

Its Mrs. Anita Issarani (nee Bhattacharjee). Good to see so many responses from such a wide range of people .... the new and the old generations.
PNC sir used to teach us integration ...
I don't know if anyone of you ever attended Bimal Sinha sir's chem classes ( I guess not as he retired in 93). Those used to be real eventful ones.
I used to stay in GCCGH. Have they added any new buildings in the college? Any additions in the chem labs? When we were in 3rd yr., the teachers used to say that they would get a centrifuge machine for the 3rd yr students soon as we used to do that manually and it used to take a long time.
Is JCM sir still there in chem?
What are the changes in Silchar?

Thanks for participating. Some people wants to know some
information about G.C.C. here it is--
About the library baranda I thing U r talking about the old
one, i think u dont know that the Library has shifted to a new
building in the oditorium hall and about principal i have written
in my previous letter.
No, there is no additional building in G.C.C.G.S. but the chemistry lab has centrifuge machine.

arree ita to ekebare narir tan er moto bisoy...aha gc college...dui bosor bahot bhala katse...1993 -1995 most of you must not have been there then...GC college was mesmerising with the milieu...everyone was charged up...bahot panga...bahot masti...the basis for some of the most valued friendships and relations was formed in those two years...a bond that has never grown weak with time...after all those were the formative years...just out of the impressionable age...and stepping into the broader spectrum of life...bad habbits got picked up...later realisation dawned...some of the bad habbits got shunned as well...all in all memorable years...the gallery and some very good teachers...some very good faces...some very sweet heartaches ;D ;D ;D...and of course some very very sweet nothings...thanks for igniting this thread...bahot bhala laglo

ami abhijit be.kita re shaap tui dekhi boro writer hoi gesos. kita re iit giya msc'r shonge journalism o kor re ni na ki. jaauk jeta houk na kene tor article ita poriya bporo moja laglo. shei je g.c. colleger din r firiya aiito nae. i miss g.c. and all the g.c.ians a lot. in 3 years of my grad. this college has given me so many things which in my entire school life i didnt get. you have provided such a good platform for all the gciian's to express their feelings about g.c.college and specially g.c.colleger maaia hokolr nekami. barit sylheti mat te mat te shesh r college a aite hi o mai re mai kelu. ei ki korchhish, kothaye jachish etc. right now i m 2500 km away from silchar, sitting at delhi working for motorola, but reading all these articles i felt as if i m in silchar, sitting at komu da,s dukan,eating porotha and ghugni and listening to lamba lamba lectures of our college's mahaan mahhan bidwan.bye for now

yah thanx debabrata da for ur message. yah its true that we shyletis talk like that only.what happened at bipin chandra paul memorial auditorium when the ronga roser ghop came they met people who had left silchar many years ago but could not leave the "antorikota" that is a patent of shyletis and can never come from a "kolkatta" bengali.

Nice approach Tamojit!!!
We tried our level best for Majlis Election but in our five years college time we have heard some void commitments from our college management. You guys are really making a history. I will write latter on how much we straggled for election.
And the concept of re-union is very nice. Keep it up....

Thank you Anitadi and Mr. BZ for your massages. We may be
from different generation but one thing we got common our alma matter is same. We may not have common memories but we are proud of our college. Life long we will be bearing the sweet memories of GCC. Mr. BZ. your post is really a unique one. I think that you are the antique one here not Anitadi .I am waiting to here from Mr. .BZ about ‘Lendu babu’ . I have heard about him. What made him so gr8.??

Can you come up with some funny stories (memories off course) I am surprised to see that no body is telling about our 'Kathal Gach ar tolar addar kotha' (jumritalya?)

hey,it's a real good topic.anyone,from physics department??do u remember the various activity during lab.exam.i remeber,during 2nd year of B.Sc one of my friend somehow managed to shortcircuit the connection of lab.,so that external sir can not varify the readings.because,experiment reading were manipulated.we used to decide beforehand,who is going to do which experiment during exam.better not to write anymore,otherwise.............anyone aware of these activities??

Hi Everybody, ;)
I'm Rupak telling my experience about G.C. college.... 8)yeah that's the time when me and my near and dear friends who were with me in the same section used to bunk :P most of the classes and like to stand in the library varanda where our eyes were set on each and every gals of the road below ::). We used to sit in cycle stand also to enjoy the students(...most of the time gals) and and the college campus ...and the trees ....and the Trade Mark of everything :-X "jo sab college se juraa hua tha". And the :o"adda" in Bibek Sweets inside or in outside....it's all the " Golden Yaaden of our college" which can't be forgotten. So always keep on updating this "adda" sesssion. :-*
