Hi All, At last two brothers(India and Israel) are getting together . It is great news and relief for us (INDIANS).For too long the idiot Gandhi's have kept the two countries from co-operating with each other. As of now Pakistan's Stomach is aching a lot .Its stomach and its supporters(JNU Marxists and Pro-pakistanis in India)stomach in India will go from Bad to worse very soon. We should be ready with required Medicines to help them. |

Pakistan is under pressure to move all or part of its nuclear weapons to China for safekeeping from fundamentalists and it is apprehensive of pre-emptive strikes on its nuclear sites by America, India and Israel to prevent the weapons falling into fundamentalist hands..... so hope for the best guys |

Well Israel wanted to destroy their attempt more than 20 years back. But they didnt get the only help from India(Murajee Desai was PM) in the form of Flight re-fuelling because Israel is too far from Pakistan. Because the problem was with the dirty Vote Banks our politicians used to care. Sonia Gandhi will do the same if we Indians make her PM. |

The Indian-Israeli friendship is really very welcome. But, it doesn't mean we should hurt the feeeling of the others. We are all the brothers and sisters, yet they have the different political views, which are undeniably understood. But, whatever views there may be, we should put all the differences aside, and move on to lift the sufferings and proverty of the mass population. |

We should value the Indian-Israeli friendship at any cost. Israel has produced many scholars, scientists, artists and others the world seems lacking. India is the heart, Israel is the brain. Both have the similar problesms from the historical perspectives. |

Well Israel has provided us with Night Vision Devices and Battlefield radars which tracks terrorists(Animals) in J&K and is responsible for 70 percent of the terrorists killed in recent months .So I dont seee any reason why we should shy of friendship with Israel because of concerns of some worthless people in India. |

Demographic trends and portents in India
(This is the last of the two-part series on demographic changes in the country) By Indrajit Barua Be it recalled that the raison d’jtre for the partition of India was the religious demography of the country. The pockets where the IR group was in a minority went into Pakistan. Indeed, the Radcliffe line demarcating the boundaries of the two new countries in back in 1947 was drawn on the basis whether the IR group in a particular town or village in the proposed border was in a minority or not. Sylhet district, then in Assam, went to Pakistan as the IR group there was clearly in the minority, although Mr Jinnah wanted the whole of Assam for Pakistan. It is now evident that the IR group has lost about twelve percentage points between 1881 and 1991 in India as a whole. This is has caused a drastic change in the religious demography of India, which is but a compact geographical region. Pockets of high non-IR group (mainly Muslim) influence have sprung up in our northern and eastern borders, in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal and Assam after 1947.
Now the question arises: what will be the demographic composition of India in the near future? This is the question that I shall attempt to answer, with the aid of some tools of numerical analysis that can let us take a peep into the future. However, a word of caution here: the projections showing the demographic compositions in the future are mathematical projections only. They do not take into account for any changes in certain parameters affecting the growth of population, such as birth and death rates, infant mortality rates, life expectancy and the like in the two groups. Even so, the projections are fairly accurate because they are based on ten sets of data, except in the case of West Bengal, where only five sets of data, from 1951 up to 1991 have been considered. This is because there was large-scale migration of people belonging to the IR group into the state after the census of 1941, consequent to the partition of India in 1947. Also, people belonging to the non-IR group also moved out of West Bengal at the same time, thus distorting the demographic profile of the state during the period 1941-1951. Here is what the projections for the Indian Union look like — the upper curve shows the decline in the contribution of the IR group and the lower curve shows the increase in the contribution of the non-IR group:
That point in time where the two curves meet is the year when the IR group will cease to be the majority. The graph shows that the IR group of population in the Indian Union taken as a whole will be a minority after the year 2061. What about Assam? Here is what the future holds for Assam:
The finding is that the IR group of population in Assam will be in the minority from the year 2047 onwards, that is, barely 100 years after the partition of India. A similar study shows that the IR-group in West Bengal will lose its majority in the year 2030.
Thus, it is clear that the Indian Religionist group of people shall have to learn to live as a minority group from the year 2061 onwards in the land which saw the birth and rise of their indigenous religions and their subsequent decline. These are the religions that gave the world the wisdom of the Vedas, the philosophy of the Upanishads, the beauty of the Bhagavad Gita, the messages of peace, non-violence and equality of Gautama Buddha, Lord Mahavira and Guru Nanak. Similarly, the Indian Religionist groups in West Bengal and Assam shall also have to learn to live as minorities from 2030 and 2047 respectively. This is the inescapable lesson that demography has to teach us all.
I acknowledge a debt of gratitude to the Centre for Policy Studies, Chennai; much of the data has been sourced from their publication, ‘Religious Demography of India’. (Concluded)
