Silchar NIT holds education utilisation programme
SILCHAR : A 2-day educational utilisation programme on ‘Standardisation, Product Certification and Quality Systems’ was held at the National Institute of Technology here on September 19 and 20.
Inaugurating the function, DIG, Cacher, N M Dutta, highlighted the role and importance of standardisation in technical institutions.
The Director and Head, Standard Promotion, BIS, BK Guha informed about the aims and objects of the programme, while Director, Quality Control and Standadusation, BIS, R S Guha, and Director, NIT, Col.(retd) JS Virk spoke about the importance and various other aspects of standardisation and quality control systems. Former Principal REC, Prof. N C Ganguli, while welcoming the delegates, highlighted the role of the BIS in standardisation, product certification and quality control.
Mr Kishore C Satpathy, Coordinator of the programme proposed the vote of thanks. Around 200 people from local NIT, Assam University, and various colleges attended the function.
