Sylhetis get together in America

We plan on having a Sylheti get together in Sunnyvale in the heart of Silicon Valley, Northern California.
Tentative Date: Feb 5, 2005, Saturday
Venue: Sunnyvale, California
Who is welcome: All Sylhetis - even those who (or whose spouses) speak Kelu. The predominant language / dialect of conversation would however be Sylheti. Sylhetis from other parts of North America are also welcome)
The Food: Our own - Rou / Illish Mas and Patar Mangsho, Mishti, Mishti Doi
Music and Fun: How much we can collectively bring together
Why? : Recently at a Diwali Mela Sukhwinder concert, amongst a tonne of Sardars and punjabis of other hues, I heard a cacophony of Sylheti voices. Happily surprised I turn back to find people from Silchar and Shillong. We followed it up with meeting at home for dinner as also showing up at the Kali Puja. Getting to actually speak Sylheti amongst people you know or have known for a long time OR even those that come from the same region - what fun! And so, why not a Sylheti get together. Which is how we are here!
