;D Incident was before independance. Kanai - a sylheti phua was studying in MC College, Sylhet and was staying alone in a small house. One day he realised that he is running under short of money, he immediately sent a telegram to his father,
"Poisa nai kita khai"

Father immediately sent the reply on the same tune :
"Pocket saaf - kor maaf"

Reminds me of one Premasish told me long back...we must've been in class 8 or 9 then...
A "Pathshalar Pondit " who had the habit of taking "nosh-shi" ( snuff ) had a peculiar problem due to his addiction...he pronounced "no" as "lo" ( maane 'no' re 'lo' koita aar ki ).
So his message to the young 'uns was:
" Baalokgol, tomra kokholo losh-shi loiyo la...
Losh-shi loile lo-karanto shobdo uchcharol korite paribe la !! " |
