In Pakistan recently after his election Prez Mushy planned to open a offshore development center for Sun Micro. coz Mcrosoft has its in India but the project failed to take-off.Read why..
The premier newspaper of Pakistan "The Dawn" came up with the advertisement which stated the expertise required as solely-Dos internals,nothing else...After initial non-tech screening 5 candidates were selected for the intvw.
The first two guys were asked questions in the range of "How to make a TSR prog?..."How does FAT32 work etc..." All they had for reply was a sweet smile and a blank stare followed by ..."Sorry,I am not aware of this..." So the interview board lowered the level and the next two guys faced questions like "How to rename a file..."How to view date ?" etc...
Even these questions fell "bhari" on the duo and they ended up being rejected.
Bill Joy who was there at the interview board was frustrated at the level of ignorance of the Pakis...So finally when the last guy turns up he plays a gamble and asks him "Expand DOS" expecting to recruit him without any hassles...To this the poor chap mumbled out "DOS stands for DOS Operating System" and the project was shelved
