Silchar.com up and running again !!

Some sections of the website was down for 24 hours including
some sections of the mahaadda (most of the mahaadda).
The site has been backed up to 24th April 2004.
Someone hacked into this account and is spamming the whole world. All these spams are filling up my account and I am hitting the webspace limit. Once I hit the limit all data file updations (most of the mahadda) are failling as I dont have any more space and all these files are getting zeroed out.
The support guys are working on it. Meanwhile I purchased double the webspace to somehow delay the space getting filled up.
So the site is up and lets start our Mahaadda back form where we left it on 24th April.
The Bokkar Maal and Matrimonial section did not lose any data !!
Though I should say that the matrimonial contact emails are flooding ... maybe it needs to turned into a fee based service to attract users who are genuinely interested.

We feel that this Silchar.com / Maha Aadda is not only yours alone but certainly it belongs to all of us who are using / viewing it. It is a platform where we all share our views, learn lot of things and of course sometimes pull each other’s leg. I don’t know about others but I certainly felt miserable when I found that Silchar.com is “attacked” and inoperable. I don’t know how to solve your problem but you mentioned that buying webspace help ease the situation .I am sure many of us can contribute something to keep the website healthy which will make us happy. I am sending a small amount by cheque by post to your silchar address which you may please accept as a humble contribution from my side( for our own selfish interest).

I would suggest you do not send me the cheque. You have already donated once for silchar.com and I think others should share ... it should not be that a few users contribute again and again ....
I definitely admire and appreciate your feelings .. and yes I have been working day and night last 2 days to get things up and running ... all because I know this site has special significance to a lot of us ...
the plan is to make the matrimonial service a paid service for the following purposes:
1) if its free, we will have lot of email contacts form anybody and everybody who generally wants to contact a girl or a guy). Registrations will always be free. One would need a username/password to contact others. This will somewhat provide some privacy to the registrants as their photos and biodata will not be viewed by eveyrone who comes to silchar.com ... rather only to those who are interested.
2) If someone doesnot have the means to pay the required fees can always write to me and I can waive the fees if the person needs to access the internet. The Matrimonial section is really useful for all sylhetis and we have more than 500 entries already and I get 100 contact-user mails ... I have to screen the emails now just to prevent objectionable , offensive and too-casual mails.
3) This is the one of the services which deserves to be paid as its not generic and its a one time affair (mostly) in one person life. And this is one way silchar.com can pay its own dues .. mostly server space , domain charges etc.
Lets see how it turns out ..

As for the contents of spam, u know what it contains so what is the point in telling or rather everyone letting know what it contains !!!!! As for our communication I guess this platform is sufficient coz this helps me contain my privacy !!!!

next thing is you are trying to pose as a hacker ... which is illegal ... maybe you fancy yourself as one.
lastly if you are trying to buy a website, I dont know how you can do that by keeping yourself anonymous ...
if you want to communicate, you can always mail me ( I dont know how by emailling someone will make him lose his privacy) ...
atleast register yourself in the mahaadda, that way you can send and receive private messages ... that way you can discuss better ...
dont worry I know that you are not the spammer so even if you reveal yourself I hae nothing against you ... in the past 5 years of silchar.com I have come across quite a few persons who want to "remain anonymous" and I have nothing against anyone :D

Just to let you know, you can be punished for spam mails. Also, your identity cannot be hidden if need be. Just to let you know, based on the IP address of the massage you are posting, your identity can be found out. It is punishibable by law in India or any other countries in the world. So take care next time U pose as a hacker.
