I don't know the definition of Best Friend. To me you all are my friends. To me what matters is the best 4 years of my life I spent with you all. I got those attachments which says those words....hardly I read them...But today those words makes a whole lot of sense to me...
I want to thank you all for being my friend. Thanks for sharing your little 4 years of memory with me in REC Silchar. The memories I have with you will always occupy a part of my heart. I miss you all.
I wish I wrote those lines couple of days earlier. I wish our friend Shantanu could read those lines. I wish I could see that ever smiling face with Krure Singh hairs again. Our friend Shantanu Dey has left us and gone to a better place. As far as I know, it was a train accident in Bombay.
I had a yahoo chatting with him a few days ago. He was talking about his wife in Gujrat. He was happy, doing fine, working in a company and thinking about appearing GMAT. I can't believe, I will never have that chat session with him again. I still remember those days before exam when we used to study together. Stay awake whole night trying to prepare for the exam and making others awake too. When bored, we used to go together to "Raj Kumar Shontoshi's" room and disturb him in all possible ways.
Also I remember...during a vacation time, when the whole First hostel was empty...Shantanu and I were the only two people in the hostel for a week or so. We had a real fun time. Watched horror movies together, went and tried to cross the Girls hostel wall together to peep, had lots and lots of beer......In short..that was one hell of a great time we spent together. I am ready to do anything to get back that time.
I can never forget you Shantanu Dey ( 1997 - 2001 Batch, REC Silchar, Civil Engg. ) I hope you find a better place.

Really it is a very sad incident.He was such a nice fellow , i studied with him not only in rec silchar but also in JEC.

Hi,
It's really a very bad news...he was a nice fellow and always he used to remain happy that was the main thing about him whether it's is exam time or festival.. he was my junior and after leaving college i don't have any contact with him ..it's really shocking news...May his soul rest in peace..

It's shocking for me also. Infact I can't even belive the news now also. We had never been in talking terms but I knew him as my batchmate. Heard the news frm some abt his marriage also...May god bless his soul. |

I can never convey or express what i felt after hearing this heart rendering news. Shantanuda along with prithivida doing every kind of pranks. doing something with rehman and then they were hiding from him. shantanuda was such a jolly and happy hearted person. Really this is definitely the most shocking news for all those who know him. May God keep his good soul always in peace.

Bohut din chup aaslam, kintu samrat er mail dekhia mono huilo kicchu lekhi.
Shantanu.....shaan,was the second guy whom I've known in REC. He was very easy going, naughty.....and emotional and very free spirited.
Same branch, same hostel.......and yeah same room(coz' I used to sleep in his room only,whenever I used to be drunk). One of my closest frens, who was so near to me(in Mumbai) when everything happened. I couldn't even see him once.
Smart, confident, helping are just a couple of attributes that he possessed. Always smiling.Very jovial.
Those every nite parties with Shaan and biscuit.......completely immersed in Director's Special, MC Rum...etc etc blah blah.........hmmm, I wonder If I can turn the hands of time. Wanna be again in REC, wanna be again with Shaan.
But, anywhere u live dear, I'll always pray that u find peace, although u made me cry after so many years. May yur soul R.I.P.

Oh ! what terrible loss to the rexian 2001 fraternity. May your soul rest in peace. Ever since I have heard this news from other guys at mumbai, I can't stop thinking about Shantanu. What a jolly boy he was. Ever Smiling face. This is really sad guys.
