O reba matha gorom, Khaia ar kam nai ni. Who the hell told u that merameri is an excuse for the guys and gals to spend time together. I think it is one of the main motivations for mera meri these days.
So what the hell.

Now a days, I don't think there would be any craze among the teen-agers for "mera-meri". But, pitha banano ba khauaa ....amaar maney hoy thik ei aachey....maney parer ni......pati sapta, malpaua, puli pitha dudher puli....gurer puli...aaro ki ki sab....... :-[ ....nah aar bhalo naam maney parer nah......any way it used be great fun.....previous day night ...some kind of picnic....cook the food...then have it lil late in the night......next day early morning.....kuyasha kuyasha....er madhey snan karo.....gaaye kichu ekta makhaitey o laagto...right...??? er pare giya mera merir ghare aagun laagano....er pare nijer ghare aar para parashi.....aattio sajan er ghare giya pitha khaua..sara din ghuriya ghuriya.....hmmm.....gone are those days.....may be things are still same....but time changed us....we have grown older ....may be we can not relish them any more as we used to do 15 yrs back.....oi sapney bhara dhulu dhulu chok niya........ :)...may be now, we should relish them as a part of the memory only....with a pinch of nostalgia..... |

In every Bishnupriya Manipuri locality in Assam, Tripura and Bengladesh (Sylhet)'Pous Sankranti' locally termed as "Sankaandi" or "songkranti", entails the preparation of traditional manipuri food "Utongchak".
"UTONGCHAK" - 'utong' mean one kinda "basor chunga" and 'chak' lireterally meaning "rice". I can give you the recipe if you are interested . apnar jita lagbo ita oilo Biron chaoul ar gur.
