just got the update,he was in his school R R Roy memorial when he went to the toilet. there 5 assailants were waiting for him with swords,3 of them went inside & shut the door. there they killed him brutally stabbing him around the head.they then escaped thru vantilator.2 other assailants were outside waving the swords and terrorising anyone who wanted to help mr.roy and injured few people in the process.police arrived at the scene within 10 mins & those 2 surrendered. as police were taking them to waiting vehicles a mob of thousands arrived and snatched the offenders from police & killed them on the spot.
there was thousands of people on either side of the road when his body was being brought from hospital to silchar. later in the evening his funeral was done.
i have got the story of this event from a reliable source and if there is anything wrong or untrue please correct me. i just wanted to share whatever info i have with the fellow silachrites and if u have more or any other version of the events please share on this forum.
this is a great loss for silchar as he did a lot in the information & broadcasting in the region. was a big employer what is a real scarcity in silchar today.who killed him & why is the question.lets pray for his departed soul.

Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today condemned the barbaric killing of Sonar Cachar editor Ranbir Roy and directed the district administration to nab the culprits and prevent breach of law and order in the district. He also expressed his heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family members. Thats why its Silchar. Bandh for every thing, lots of holidays. Silchar in this way will go to :'(.
As most of the people who organises the bandhs are not educated they are not aware of the loses that Silchar has to suffer. Bandhs are really demaging the economy of the country and U can never make this uneducated people realise Bandh is not the solution for everything. How many Rono have come and gone from Silchar but Silchar is still at least 200 years backward from the rest of the world. Only one advancement one can see is that the chubby politicians are getting fatter and richer. Why?
