Good thing about ragging is that if you get ragged once, you can rag next three years. Obviously I strongly oppose the the things that cross the line. But a little fun is probably not that bad. I was a localite so that saved me from a lot of trouble besides my low profile helped too. On my first day, they asked me to tell a final year girl that very pritty. I think that senior fella had a crush on her. So, I went and told her like a robot "XXX-da asked me to tell you that you are pritty"!! ;D I think all women like to hear that. So she gave me a lot of cover for rest of the days. Funny part is that XXX-di and XXX-da got hooked later and are happily married now. ;D |

I also remember a few incidents during my ragging period. We were often informed that there is one guy named Somnath Paul; when he will meet us we are going to die. But when we actually met him, he turned out to be a senior of my school and he even didnt hit a single guy from our batch ( except a few stupid creatures). Similar was the case for Pranab Deb ( KAKU). We were also informed that he has made a few attempt to murders in town and all such stuffs. But he also never hit me atleast. Unfortunately I was bitten by some guys whose name never came in the lsit of most dreaded seniors. But again the guys who had ragged me the most went on to become my best friends for life. So the entire ragging period is filled up with all sorts of mysteries. Infact even after 5 yrs from my ragging period, I am yet to understand what actually happened during the first 2 months of my REC days.
