Hi friends,
Starting today.. a new contest has started on silchar.com to make life more interesting and fun. Its called Bokkar Maal ...
Rules of the Bokkar Maal contest:
=> Every day you get a chance to win points in this contest. The contestant with the highest points at the end of the month will be the winner of the Bokkar Maal contest for the month.
=> The daily points can be different each day.
=> To win the daily points, you need to log in to your contest account and you will be asked a question. The answer to the question will be somewhere in the MahaAdda, either in the discussion topics and posts or can be found in a webpage that can be visited by clicking on the links on the Mahaadda pages. You can try the answer as many times as you wish. If you get the answer right, you win the daily points and can come back the next day for the next question.
=> The contest follows IST and so the question changes everyday based on IST.
=> Answering the same question successfully multiple times will not increase the points you win in a day.
=> Fom time to time, the monthly prize money will be increased based on the level of user participation. So let your friends know, the more the contestants the higher the prize money. This contest is FREE for all users and users from anywhere in the world can participate.
=> As the contest proceeds ahead the daily points will increase to allow late joiners to catch up.
=> The toppers in the points table will be listed once the contest starts.
=> The prize money can be sent only to a postal address in India or a paypal account. The users profile and photo will be placed on Silchar.com.

Honestly speaking I dint like at all the contest. Its no point in searching the whole website and answer a single question. Very very ordinary. I think you people should have come up with some good one. Being a sylheti its very disappointing for me to see such things. Nobody gonna play it.
From technical point it may help you to increase your page views and nothing more.

thanks for the feedback ...
few good things about the contest :
1) it rewards users who are regular to the mahaadda and know somewhat about which topic may have which sentence.
[I agree today there are tricks that can be used to find out where the answer is .. but it will be taken care of soon ... once the contests heats up]
2) its a way to keep things live ... for daily users and rewards daily visitors..
3) And smarter users will find the answer much much faster than others ... so if you ask me this is not a mundane excerise..
the questions will keep changing and so also the format ... its just a start In the past we had some really good contest .. like the first BETA-u-reba contest ... more contests like that will added from time to time ..
And it will be good if you suggest something that you think will be interesting ... but something which require more participation from the users.. atleast more than me ...
