As I was going through the khati sylheti words , remembered the special words and phrases Mihir Dutta sir used to use ( with due respect to Sir) ...
:D funda ... now its a common word but it all started at his class ..
8) littil idea .... after small observations , this would be the concluding phase ... say , after telling us what he knows about America or say REC ... Actually, having seen all the Sir-clones for all these years ( some of whom, like Pinak, actually do a very good job of it) I always wondered how well Debdas could have done it himself !! Having given us so many gems overs the years, I'm sure Debdas' version would be the inimitable best...only none of us has ever had the "gurdha" to ask him about it ;D

here I describe an incident involving sir and myself. ;D Sir lives in deshobondhu road and my home is in the lane adjacent to that, called Sunil Sarkar Lane...and in the years around 1993-1995, there was hot rivalry between the two lanes in cricket. We used to organise night cricket matches...and tournaments...and they used to enlist and almost an equal number of times both the sides used to win( debdas da was their opener...that was to our benifit)...then they also started organising cricet tourneys and the rivalry reached new heights. Once it so happened that in a tournament of theirs, the two teams again met in the finals...that was sometime around midle of February 1995, with just about a week left for my 12th examinations...we were comfortably placed in the match...and I was batting...suddenly out of the blue...there was an announcement...that the chief guest had arrived...andd to my disbelief I found the chief guest to be our dear Sir :-[ :'( ...he watched me batting...and I thought...khobor ase...porikhha baki ek sapta...sir e dhorte parle sesh paimu...ita bhabte bhabte ami out hoi gelam... >:(there was this other fellow who also saw sir and perished...I dont remember the outcome of thematch...but long before the prize distribution sarted both of us had left the scene...not trying to try our luck at receiving individual prizes from Sir...and the next time he met me, a longggggggg lonng discussion(more of a retribution) followed. >:( >:( >:(

He used to love us... and thats the most striking thing abt him. He used to mix with us, talk abt everything that we liked... that made him one of the most popular teachers at that time. He used to tell us " my 100 sons are doctors and 500 are engineers..".
In our batch, he gave us a very good offer.. nobody has taken it till date (I think..) that goes like that .."tumra re, ektu bhala kori podi lau re.. bhala marks loiya aao re.. life e nijer paye darai jao re.. tar pore amare aiya kou.. sir.. ami korsi.. sedin tumare ami bar khulia dimu re bar.. joto khushi khao.. kintu ekhon re.. ektu podi lao.." ;D

i tell u a story of friend of mine who was a co scholar with me in sir mihir's tution classes. i won't disclose her name.
she was very rich. she used to com in her private car . she even chnged her car on alternate days.one day it happnede that her pen was out of ink and she was unable to write but she was triyng hell to write and pretending in front of sir that she was writing somthing, but sir noticed that , came near her and said " maaane **** 4 lookkho takar maruti gariye aaiye arr 4 takar kolom kinte pare , mane ita lojjar bepar"
another incident
it was the time when the film rangeela released(*ing urmila)
and we were giving som tests and it ws diificult to ans som questions and a gal said sir its too tough , sir said " tumi jodi ans korte pro te tumare rageela dekhamu: oijeee aaiore aaiore jor laga ke nachore gaan ta dekhaimu"

i don't know how much u enjoyed but i felt like sharing my experience with u

here is my 2 cent.
There was this guy in our batch. He was extremely particular about his attire. His particular interest was in curly wavy hair. He took extreme care to maintain it. Actully his "gopis" liked it too. But alas! ekdin sir er nojor porigelo tar chuler upre. He mildly advised him to get it cut. But our hero, paid a deaf ear to his advise. Next thing we know is that, Sir is telling him in front of the class "bujcho ni re ba, %^) jare dekhibar lagiya oto sundor chul ta rekcho, hoy to tar loge konodin jobone ar dekha-i hoito nay!"
But our stud guy was also ready with a prompt answer.
He replied "Sir, chul ta to apnare dekhaner lagiya rakchina, Jare dekhaner lagiya rakchi tar thik bhala lage" |

Managed to get some of my recollections together ...
a) A senior of mine had stayed away from the customary final test Sir conducted before the 2nd yr exams. Infact he was not there for the last two months. Suddenly b4 the exams he remembered that Sir's fees for 2 months were due. He was in a dilemma. Ditam na fuit martam. ??? Someone counselled him, dilao re ba.. And so our hero went to Sir's house ....
" Sir achoin ni? Oi ke re P***** ni? Oi sir. Te tui kita porikhaa dite na ni, ghurre je. Sir, amar dui maash er dues clear nai, eta rakhoin. Tumi re bhitre aao re, maane re ami amar diary t note koira lai...Koiya Sir andar mahal o gela ar ekhan 1942 r diary loiya aila ... Maane re P***** , bujchoo nani, eai dekho 1972 Sangeeta, 1975 Pulak ... hera re amar dues clear korchil na re ..maane re tumi bhagaban maano nani ...maane hera r kita hoiche jano ni? Hera shob eu re porikhat fail koira laichey...hoibo nani pap er fal .....mmane re ami kichu korchi na re...ma kasam..."

b) It was 1 week to go b4 the chemistry exams, I managed to get 50 odd out of 70 in the final test. Sir called me and said ...

Anyway I just managed to cross the 90 barrier. Infact as each one will testify 100 was common and I just manged to get two sums wrong on the D-Day

d) During the practical day as is an open secret, the salt is identified by all, except the dumbest dumb. Problem comes in the second part, oops I forgot the name (that was the last day I did chemistry in my life)...something to do with Normality of solution etc.

Now incidentally our external came only minutes b4 the exam was to be oer from KGanj. And as all potatoes are, he went to survey what the fair skins were doing. So he did not take any viva for us. Whatever was taken was by the (reasonable)internal ;D ...In the evening Mihir Sir was having a heated discussion with him, since this moron refused to give us viva marks as he had not taken them ... Mihir dutta sir is one of the best teacher I ever had, moreover his technique of teaching and clearing all doubts covering all topics is really brilliant.Now as for some "GOLPO SHOLPO". :)In our 1998-2000 batch (thats the period we studied in sir's class) we had lots of fun 8) 8)in particular when the cricket world cup was going on-
1.Sir used to come after a break and write on the board the score of a ongoing match as for eg. Pak 100/3 overs 24
and used to ask "MANNE RE KI MONE HOI AMADER INDIA KI JITBO?"then without waiting for our answer which was nothing more than some comments he used to start his studies as "MANNE AMRA AJKE PORBO UNIT THIRRTTEEEN(UNIT-XIII). ;D
2.As for another common incident, during our second year he shifted to a new room near his own house where he used to take our classes.now there was a boy who used to play songs very loudly
in a neighouring house, as for sir used to comment on that "AAE KI BAJAY RE AMER KACHE OTTO BORO EKTA MUSIC SYSTEM ACHE (HE USED TO SPECIFY THE SIZE BY STREACHING HIS HANDS AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE) AMI BAJEILE AAE TO PAGAL HOI JAIBO". ;D ;D
3.Another comment was "AEI CHALE' TA AAOOA (STUPID) NI RE? KI KOI?CHALE'TA KI KOI? MANE RE KI KOI?AAOOA NI?" That comment was made by sir whenever someone was not able to reply correctly to a question ;D :D |

After some time i was looking at this Thread on Mihir Dutta Sir and i came across a post by some CREEP who calls himself Stan.... I was wondering who this moron could be, because obviously if you do not know someone you have no right to pass a stupid judgement, and even in case you know that person, it is very important to respect them. YOu maight have forgotten your roots and so might thinkj it very trendy to use words such as sh** and su*k. But let me tell you something...there are a loads of people who are student's of Sir Mihir Dutta and who knows how to use that language better. but it is probably your poor upbringing and values that you do not know what language is appropriate for what situation.
