Soon, I feel
the time comes near to leave.
With sunset shadings
screen the parting day.
Let the hour be silent; let it be peaceful.
Let not any pompous memories or meetings
create a sorrow's stance.
May the trees at the gate
raise the earth's chant of peace
in a cluster of green leaves.
May the night's blessings be
in the light of the seven stars.

The sand of time in the hourglass does slip away,

Like the passing of time each and every day.

Live each moment like it will be your last,

Because before you know it the present is past.

Hold no regret for what has been done,

Instead live in envy of each moment to come.

Things of the past you can never rearrange,

Learn from the past so you may your future change.

Forget about plans, your regrets and your fear,

Because life is right now, in front you here.

This romeo is bleeding
But you can't see his blood
It's nothing but some feelings
That this old dog kicked up

It's been raining since you left me
Now I'm drowning in the flood
You see I've always been a fighter
But without you I give up

Now I can't sing a love song
Like the way it's meant to be
Well, I guess I'm not that good anymore
But baby, that's just me

And I will love you, baby - Always
And I'll be there forever and a day - Always
I'll be there till the stars don't shine
Till the heavens burst and
The words don't rhyme
And I know when I die, you'll be on my mind
And I'll love you - Always

Now your pictures that you left behind
Are just memories of a different life
Some that made us laugh, some that made us cry
One that made you have to say goodbye
What I'd give to run my fingers through your hair
To touch your lips, to hold you near
When you say your prayers try to understand
I've made mistakes, I'm just a man

When he holds you close, when he pulls you near
When he says the words you've been needing to hear
I'll wish I was him 'cause those words are mine
To say to you till the end of time

Yeah, I will love you baby - Always
And I'll be there forever and a day - Always

If you told me to cry for you
I could
If you told me to die for you
I would
Take a look at my face
There's no price I won't pay
To say these words to you

Well, there ain't no luck
In these loaded dice
But baby if you give me just one more try
We can pack up our old dreams
And our old lives
We'll find a place where the sun still shines

And I will love you, baby - Always
And I'll be there forever and a day - Always
I'll be there till the stars don't shine
Till the heavens burst and
The words don't rhyme
And I know when I die, you'll be on my mind
And I'll love you - Always
AND YOU DIDNOT KNOW THAT BONJOVI WAS FROM SILCHAR???????? ;) :P ;)

have had enough of poetry over the last year frankly...tar upor cheesy self composed stuff mane ar hoi gese :o :o :o.........but hell, risking all round condemnation..here is a self composed gem.

there's a fish
there's a fish
there's a fish
finish.
(note the pun)

ps-though it will be unfair to praise myself..note the carefully rhymed verses....modulated nuances..and dont forget the skillfully accurate iambic pentameter in which the lines are arranged..all syllables are rhymed after a carefully measured interval..it took me about a week to write this..lots of hard work and sweat went into this.jibanananda was but a novice when it comes to such genius,ha!

pps-while on the subject of poetry, last week a few of my friends and me had gone to attend a seminar at the seagull institute of art and culture, jodhpur park,calcutta......and the subject was the art and poetry in 60's rock and blues..specifically,ahem..jimi hendrix.jai houk,as is expected....we did not quite fit into the prim and propah climate there..leading to all round discomfiture...a respectable looking middle aged man soon stood up..(god knows what he was doing at a concert 'bout jimi hendrix, but let that go)..and said.."ekhane bhimsen joshi, jasraj er moto lok perform kore gachen....tomra jore jore gondogol kore jyagatar dignity noshto korte paro na!".............it so happened that another old man stood up (again..god knows etc etc)....and said "bhimsen joshi jokhon baccha chilo tokhon country liquor kheye paray gondogol korto"..after that we were allowed to continue in peace.

ppps-no insult to the genius of pandit joshi is intended or implied.

In my search for freedom
And peace of mind
I've left the memories behind
Wanna start a new life
But it seems to be rather absurd
When I know the truth
Is that I always think of you

Someday someway
Together we will be baby
I will take and you will take your time
We'll wait for our fate
'Cos nobody owns us baby
We can shake we can shake the rock

Try to throw the picture out of my mind
Try to leave the memories behind
Here by the ocean
Wave's carry voices from you
Do you know the truth
I am thinking of you too

The love we had together
Just fades away in time
And now you've got your own world
And I guess I've got mine
But the passion that you planted
In the middle of my heart
Is the passion that will never stop

just a li'l clarification...none of my friends here are from silchar..unluckily or luckily for them..and us not fitting in had nothing to do with us being from silchar or not..it was more of the prim and propah thing that got us. :o :o :o......i must say i have touched a guitar, long long ago,in a land far far away, though i cant claim to play it..so hendrix is more of a spiritual rather than technical god for me.
and hey, thanks for the positive review, recognising my limitations ;D...we aim to please :)

well if we are at it, we should mention one of the greatest guitarist to have walked the earth....yes, Jimmy Page's the name ! and if you are into blues based rock you could not have missed Jeff Beck of YardBirds playing with Jimmy Page in such memorable classics as 'Over under, sideways down'.Another classic is 'stroll on' in the soundtrack of movie Blow-Up.that was one hell of a combination with Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page playing together, although Clapton hogs the limelight in that category most of the time.

so hendrix is undoubtedly the greatest of them all, but.....

Hey,
Over under sideways down,
Backwards forwards square and round.

Over under sideways down,
Backwards forwards square and round.
When will it end, when will it end,
When will it end, when will it end.

I find comment 'bout my looks irrelativity,
Think I'll go and have some fun,
'Cos it's all for free.
I'm not searching for a reason to enjoy myself,
Seems it's better done,
Than argued with somebody else.....

so long, dudes and dudettes......

right right..the great page......have any of you heard the bbc sessions..paris theatre?they are absolutely mindblowing....it begins with a sedate bbc announcer saying "ladies and gentlemen, this is something we have waited for a long time..but its been worth it,ladies and gentlemen, led zeppelin..."...and you never forget the rush when immigrant song breaks in.in my humble opinion, page is the greatest rock vocalist of all time.........have a yardbirds tape from the page days....its got a magical duet with page on the guitar and someone on the tabla..havent heard it in a long time..something like norwegian wood.
alan parsons was the sound engineer for pf..later on he came nto his own.if i am not mistaken,he sounds a lot like the people he used to work for.....i believe the heartbeat on dark side was his work..along with a lot of other things.
but well,in my opinion..hendrix remains the undisputed great.....you can smell all the east coast chicago blues on him...if you've heard muddy waters you know what i mean..and there are those screaming marshalls in the background as ever..a devilish concoction if there ever was one....experience hendrix...things they wont seem the same evr again......

all along the watchtower is good..but it will always remain primarily a dylan song.....the greatest guitar solo ever,by hendrix or for that matter anybody else is star spangled banner at woodstock.....those 5 minutes of guitar nirvana changed the face of a nation...you can literally hear the bombs dropping on vietnam in the tortured strings..nothing will ever equal that.....

well, like i said the list is my take on things....no doubt you will have yours.'all along the watchtower' is ofcourse a Dylan song but as i was looking into guitar solos only, i consider Dylan to be the lyricist and Hendrix to be the musician in this one and Hendrix's guitar in that song just lights up and gives new meaning to a great song.its the greatest for me.the woodstock thing was great but it had a context in which it was purely electric and captured a generation's hope and frustration magically but outside of that context, imho 'all along the watchtower' scores higher.

and mclaughlin is a great jazz guitarist and me being a blues fan, i sure adore him.his 'bitches brew' with Miles Davis is one of the best jazz-fusion albums to come out although its not pure jazz for sure.he is more like Santana and is one of the greatest guitarists but his guitar solos are more jazz centric then rock centric although fusion's his specialty.
