Friends,
After a long hiatus the event of the quiz calender, the Holy Grail of quizzing in Silchar was resurrected last year, 2002. Though I was not present physicaly, information just flowed in from all quarters. We had a QM flying in from USA, we had fantastic participation and of all a splendid audience.
Things do happen behind the scenes, both good and bad. Is seems somehow there won't be any Nericiq this year. Correct me if I am wrong. But the question is why? Why can't we enthuse ourselves once again to keep the light burning?
The show must go on...come what may... So are we having NERICIQ this year?

hi
it indeed is a great pity. It is a pride of us- silcharites and we should keep it going. NERICIQ has given us wonderful memories and we should take up the responsibility to provide the same to the students of silchar.
itz my plea to whoever reads this, and is physically present there, to find out and do something 'bout it(if possible i.e.).

yes, thats really sad.I even don't know the reason why it was halted.have'nt been to "Aamaaar Silchar"for some time now. i request other 'agile' silcharians to do something 'bout it ???whre r the Jimuts and Rupams

yes,, truly nericiq is no more,, its just that we have kept it live in our momories,,,thanz to the joytians ,, who made it all possible,, as people get busy with their work,, there is no one to take initiative in this matter... we can just write about it,, can any of us dare to bring it back to the district library auditorium :-X :-X :- |

haven't seen a fight for a long time here. can debomita and sona endow, whosoever they r (viswamitra or shakuni or whatever) knock shaan out, can shaan pull out some witty stuffs.

Really I miss NERICIQ, more than the brainstorming, what I remember are the jostling crowd, beautiful chicks, the environment,the khana (specially those khana for participants) and friends, adda and everything............. |

Nice to see a lot of people on this thread at least talking, even if NERICIQ is dead. :)
Nericiq meant a lot to a lot of people. For some it was quizzing pinnacle, for some it was fun, for some exposure to outstation quizzers, for some a lifelong passion.
A lot of us extracted our own bit of fun from the event. Some won prizes and cash awards, others won accolades and sweet memories. But bet it, none received so much in life than Rajib (last year's QM) and Kaks(the compere). :-*
They found each other, and sources tell me that they have TIED THE KNOT :P :-* ;) ;)
Another reason to miss Nericiq folks, isn't it 8) 8) 8) |

We used wait for the D-Day. the grand finale of NERICIQ. feels bad that it's no more. silchar becomes poorer perhaps. I was fortunate to enjoy the best of NERICIQ as a participant as well as from the audience. and for no fault of mine, thanks to my partners ended up in the winning side once! Really will miss the ambience. |

Talking about NERICIQ, I just remembered a certain Mr. Deb Laskar. I remember once the QM asked a question to the audience which was like this - "How many bottles of whisky did Amitabh Bachhan consumed in the film Sharabi?" Pat came the reply -"14 and half". No prizes for guessing who was the person. Can somebody tell his whereabouts? Last heard that he was spotted in Guwahati attached with three different gals at different times on the same day. But that was a long time back. Any latest updates?? |

Even if you left out the name and just talked about that sort of out-of-the-world answering ability in a quiz and the parallel ability to pull off a life-style like that anytime/anywhere in the country, a lot of people would've easily come up with the correct name !!!
I think even the most frevent of the Big B's fans would probably bow to such an answer..still remember that day...I think 1995 or 1996.
As for the 2nd bit of info...well...thanks...again I have to admit...anything's possible with him around ! ;D ;D |
