DID YOU GUYS KNOW THIS...
Last Saturday, 25th December, I had gone to watch Raincoat to IMAX, a movie hall close to Sanjeeviah Park on the banks of Hussainsagar Lake, where PV Narshima Rao's cremation was supposed to take place. I had bought advance tickets a couple of days earlier and was wating all this while.
The show was at 1.45pm. However, on reaching there I found that all shows have been cancelled till 3.00pm in respect of Rao. Unwillingly I got the the tickets refunded and came back home.
It was around 10pm at night when I got this shocking news.
People found that Rao's dead body was lying half cremated and no one was around to account for that. Only a few TV crew and onlookers were around when this was detected. The flames has apparently gone out for want of fuel and wood.
It was only aound 1.30am at night that the local authorities could get its act together and redo the cremation.
This is clearly shocking and shows how we are loosing our sense of values and ethics while we run behing money and fame.
The very fabric of Indian culture seems to been eroded in the onslaught of BPO and service industry promising fast bucks.
Leave alone a PM, every mortal is entitled to a decent burial/cremation even though he was an enemy during his lifetime.
It is shameful and shuddering to think that the man who opened the floodgates of modernization and libelarization in India due not get a fitting farewell, Hyderabad - a city that has most benefitted from his vision and outlook.
Sorry Mr P. V. Narashima Rao, you deserved a better deal. >:( |

the only PM from a non- Gandhi family to survive full five yrs
the only PM to run a minority government for five years...
the PM that gave the country Manmohan Singh and a thumbs up to his liberalization policies, despite strong nationalist economic feelings...
sure he did deserve a better deal.
Are apna to koi nahi tha...lekin sale hyderabad ke logo...tumhara to apna tha...tumhara apna CM tha tin bari ka...kuch to sharam karo kamino.

Shameful. That's the only thing that comes to mind. P.V. was the man whose vision turned India from a socialistically inclined state to today's global India.
Surely he deserved better. But in India if your surname is not Gandhi, then ...... |
