Being from silchar and being a doctor I always thought that getting good non-biased healthcare advice in Silchar (or for that matter most of India) is tough. The doctors do not convey much, very conscious about their time and the status. In deed they are probably the worst communicator - probably because medicine inherently involves a little bit of cheating, lying, playing to the gallery and all those vices. something about being the second oldest profession! On the other hand public is very ignorant, they do not care about their health, do not want to spend money, belives in all kinds of superstitions and 'jari-buti'. I have seen the faces of some silcharis when accompaning their close relative to the big city for treatment etc. -standing in front of the big hospital with little money in their pocket, and a lot less direction and large amount of frustation and confusion and anger. Not surprisingly they often get cheated big time by all the touts.
What is the remedy - as always good advice from someone who knows and someone without monetary interest. |

hey,
so very true prabasiboy, many people are very tight when it comes to spending there money on medecin and treatment, but you have to think about it though, these people may be poor people who only have little amount to feed themselves and there family, so go buy medicin and get treatment done this is out of there range, where are they to get the money from, and if they do, they are left in debt.
