Yeah Jai Hind!!! Now something for the literatti, gliteratti and the chateratti to ponder on. ??? Buddies you see we often get to read and hear that the current generation doesn,t really understand the significance of independence , having got it on a platter.Nor do we appreciate the supreme sacrifices made by our forefathers or the tremendous churning that went through the entire fabric of our motherland through the ages. Well but does it only take a Midnight's child to understand all this.I can't concur with them nor do I think many of you. What do you say? |

Another observation. :) Well you see I have been witness to Independence Day celebrations in atleast four major center's of our country barring Delhi. These include Silchar,Kolkata,Hyderabad and Allahabad. But nowhere did I notice more fervour and spontaneity than in the land of 'Babus,Begums and Beggars' - Hyderabad. Even the Nehruvian Allhabad fades in contrast. Dunno why but I may be skewed,Silchar and Kolkata fall a bit more below. You see don't catch me wrong I am not comparing the cities or their people per se but what I intend to convey is maybe the land of Pingali Venkaih(he designed our national flag) is one up in this count from the lands of Tagore,Nehru or even our own Kamala Datta and his brethren. :) Can you tell me why? |

Happy independence day, but its really a matter of strange that in a cultural programme of a private tv chanel that all are dancing & singing with a western consciousness where mere at the time of independece celebration, it mightbe expected with Indian view which was completely absent. Now, tell me how do u like to hear "I LOVE MY INDIA" with western pop music and culture. Nevertheless, I would be happy to wish all of you HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY. ??? |
