I received the following message in my Email.

This happened in Paris. Few weeks ago, in a movie theatre, person sat on something poking that was on one of the seats. When she got up to see What it was, she found a needle sticking Out of the seat with a note Attached saying: 'You have just been infected by HIV'. The Disease Control Centre (in Paris) reports many similar Events in many other cities recently. All tested needles are HIV Positive. The Centre also reports that needles have been found in the cash dispensers at public Banking Machines . We ask everyone to use extreme caution when faced with this kind of situation. All public chairs/seats should be inspected with vigilance and caution before use. A careful visual inspection should be enough. In addition, they ask that each of you pass this message along to all members of your family and your friends of the potential danger.
Recently, one doctor has narrated somewhat a similar instance happened at the Priya Cinema in Delhi to one of his patients. A Young Girl engaged and about to be married in a couple of months was pricked while the movie was going on. The tag with the needle had the message "Welcome to the World of HIV+ family".
Though the doctors told her family that it takes about 6months before the virus grow strong enough to start damaging your system and a healthy Victim could survive
about 5-6 years. The girl died in 4 months, perhaps more because of the " Shock - thought". We all have to be careful at public places. Rest is fate & look forward to
God's help! It is very much possible that some lunatics get infected With HIV & develop a cheap mentality of spreading this infection to innocent victims to have
them suffering in the same boat as they are. This is very important. Just think about saving a life of someone you don't know by forwarding this message.
Please, take a few seconds of your time to pass along. The information about the Paris incident has been sent by the Ville d'Issy Les
Moulineaux Municipal Police and to all departments of Ile de France Who have transmitted this news to all it's cities.

dor dekhao kene. okhon cinema unemat jaoa bondho kori dite lagbo chuichor guthar dore. anyways, good info. there should be other ways of detecting these needles, something like a metal detector may be. its not possible for people to look for a needle in a dark cinema hall and that too if u r there with ur girlfriend. can u concentrate on a needle? |

Gujobe kan diben na. When you forward emails like that to everybody you know, you waste valuable internet resources. So if you receive such an email, spend a few minutes to verify the validity of such news. Even though it sound theoretically possible. Then delete the email. |

This is one of the more famous urban legends that has been doing its rounds in the internet for around six years now. Its wise not to propagate such hoaxes, and better to check out websites like http://urbanlegends.about.com when such emails arrive that are sensational in nature yet no news stories in television or newspapers report any such thing.

I know your intention was good. Same as several other people who were concerned and those who unknowingly spread gossip like this. As you said, it was caused by your good heart. Unfortunately internet is full of perverted people. The sense of anynimity brings the worse out of some people. I shall never understand what type of satisfaction someone will have simply by spreading a gossip. Internet is a very strong medium. Just by clicking a button you can reach millions of people for free. Hence we should be careful of the messages that we post.
Once I received once such email with a touching tale of a dying child. The email said the the the last wish of the boy was to spread his email to all the corners of the world.
That email even had the name of a hospital where he was admitted etc. It seemed so real. Since the city where the hospital was located was same as mine, I tried to locate that hospital and it turned out to be a bogus address.
Moral of the story is that you should not be this gullable. Treat stories in internet with a grain of salt. |

Shan and I exchanged a few messages in the last few months. In those those messages I told him how much I liked his posts. So when he posted here, I thought of pulling his leg. Probably this does not display the best of my wit but that was the intention. Because I did not think anything in this thread that is quite derogatory (including your last post). Of course you have a right to excercise your freedom of expression. Even if I don't agree to it. Neither do I think that there is anything in this thread that warrant intervention by the admin.
Now comming back to your post, since when word "hata" is a slang. Tumar barit bhat barte kita use koroin? What do you call it? I am curious to know. What is your opinion on the Bengali word called "stabok" or "mosaheb"? Are these politically correct for you?
