The Godhra carnage was an act of terrorism sponsored by Pakistan and was executed in connivance with "jehadi forces" based in the town, a five-member study team of the Delhi-based Council for International Affairs and Human Rights has said.

"The objective behind the Godhra carnage was to weaken Indian positions on the border and to make the area more porous for infiltrators and smugglers of drugs and arms by forcing India to divert its forces from the border to civil deployment," the team said in its report titled 'Godhra and After'.

The study team has indicted two Congress members of the Godhra Municipal Corporation -- Abdul Rehman Dhatia and Haji Bilal -- for their alleged role in the ghastly incident.

Questioning the holding of Istema -- religious gatherings -- at Godhra that were attended by a large number of foreigners despite the fact that Godhra is neither a pilgrimage centre nor a city of any tourist importance, the team observed that these were meant to ignite communal passions and acted as a "catalyst" leading to the Godhra catastrophe.

"Given the dismal economic profile of Godhra Muslims, it was intriguing to find a large number of Muslim youth, mostly unemployed, with mobile phones " said Justice D S Tewatia, former chief justice of the Calcutta high court, one of the members of the team.

To substantiate its allegations of a "Pakistani hand" in the Godhra episode, the team claimed there was a very high traffic of telephone calls from Godhra to Karachi before February 27.

Besides Tewatia, the other members of the team were senior advocate J C Batra, academician Krishan Singh, journalist Jawaharlal Kaul and a professor of Guru Jambeshwar University, Hisar, B K Kuthiala.

The report would be presented to Union Home Minister L K Advani on Monday.

Right rajendra, you may be correct..

But there is also another possibility..
Hindu Jehadi groups like vhp, rss or vajrang dal might also have masterminded godhra. It can be a 'got up' case u know.. just ignite a provocation.. shift the blame on others and enjoy killing in the name of revenge..

The way sang parivar has systematically destroyed muslim properties, killed muslim population so methodically, it is very clear that they had every information ready at their finger tips. The manner in which targets were selected indicates that the mobs had perfect information about who was living where and owned what.

Police and Goverment everywhere had sangh parivar men..economic boycott of other community.. distribution of arms.. every thing was ready..the stage for Genocide was ready.. all required was a incident like godhra..

But whoever did godhra.. you sangh people are very happy inside.. because u wanted a godhra to happen, to teach the people from other community a lesson. Your background work in gujrat for years to wipe of non hindus was ready to produce result. You badly wanted something like godhra to start displaying your skill sets..

So Godhra has satisfied your objective.. It should be immaterial to you now about whose handiwork is Godhra.

Well,The report was prepared by Five Respected and responsible High court Judges.
Read the report properly.
Where did the poor Muslims of Godhra got so many Mobile phones?
Why were so many ISD calls made to Pakistan before the incident?
Why was a Muslim religious Festival held in Godhra the prsvious day,though Godhra is not known
for any Muslim Religious place?
Can you give Logical answer to the above questions.
Did BJP,VHP made phone calls to Pakistan?

I feel Hindus would have killed the Muslims of Godhra on a large scale and confine the effects
to Godhra.But Godhra seems ot be a hot bed of ISI people.That's why Hindus couldnt go there.

I am quite confident even if Hindus kept quiet after Godhra,then Pseudo -Secularist would have
made a Hue and cry about Harresment of Minorities when police would have arrested some Accused in Godhra.

They are already doing so now as they have done during Bombay Blast ,Hindus kept quiet in Bombay at that time.

Still All Human rights activist made a big hue and cry when lot of accused were Arrested.
I am quite sure that these pseudo-secularist are well paid employees of ISI or Dawood Ibrahim.

So I dont think Hindus have done any thing wrong by reacting strongly.

Otherwise every day Muslims would have burnt trains containing Hindus and pseudo-secularist/ISI would
have protected them.

I dont think Hindus anywhere other than Gujarat could have retialated this way.
They simply would have kept quiet and also would have got all the blame for not
taking care of the poor Frustrated Muslims.
This is first time Hindus(like Israel) have risen up against Injustice done to them which
should send a strong signal to the other side.

Oh..!! First u said the team was comprised of Judges, professor, journalist.. now u say that only judges..

Given the contradictory and hypocratic nature of sangh parivar, I still assume that you unintentionally made this mistake. By the way can you present the source of information from where you got this ? I might have missed the mainstraem news paper edition where this report came....

Such Hindus like Ram(or whatever the Hell your name is) should be shot like dogs every where in India.
I as a True Muslim feel that a large section of the mainstream Hindus have become our enemy because
some pseudo-secular Hindus pamper our Fundamentalist Jehadis for votes.
I clearly see that there is no effort to nail the main culprits of Godhra,which has furthur
angered the mainstream Hindus and the subsequent revenge action.

Mostly all incidents are planned to achieve political mileage.Do you believe that the situation in Ahmedabad is now normal.What exactly happend is not reported by the dailies.Afterall not possible due their loyal to seniors and vice versa.Anyway ,tell me who is the loser at most.

In one sense there is no justice in this country.Prime Minister and Home Minister knows well about the incident in Godhra and about the subsequent carnage in Ahmedabad and other places.

So at last we managed to get rid of those daily useless abuses on Modi by Some Indians and Foriegners also.
We are into the vital and Main Business of showing to pakistan that we mean Business and wil not be cowed by Nuclear blackmail.
