God Bless BSNL ???
«on: 03/24/05 at 11:07:42 »

Since last few days I have been trying to reach my home town at Assam and everyday either banging my home phone or calling the customer support center of the calling card company, cursing them. But after reading the news at Assamtribune.com I realized its mighty BSNL employees who are responsible for this. When Gandhiji thought of strikes he probably would have never thought about this meaning. I can't believe they can disrupt the most essential services like phone/ electricity to force government to fulfill their demand. I am sure their demands are more noble than my call, but are their demands more important than dieing person who needs an immediate medical assistance or a burning house or a left alone kid?

I must say those employees are really lucky they don’t face either of the situations.

God bless BSNL employees or other utility services, with a hope that they will understand someday, keep smiling

cheers

Privatization is the only solution....................No work and more pay is the logo of most of the public firms ................. Privatization will remove the babugiri of these employees, who want chai pani for whatever small work they do................. They remind me of the bengali modern song titled "Ami sarkari karmachari"  >:(

That song is really a nice one Tintin..

But both are opposite sides of a same coin. Worst experience of mine.
First one with CitiBank Subidha card:

I have applied for the CitiBank debit card as my earlier one was damaged. I placed the request on 17th of Feb '05 in Bangalore Customer service and I also requested them to send me to my residential address as my office has been shifted to new location. After a week I called them and enquired about the card status, they told me that they sent the card to my residence address but the courier people did not find it out. But every month I am getting the Citibank credit card statement in my residence address. After that I called them again and I did the same request , this time I gave them landmark as well as my mobile number for their reference regarding my address. Bangalore customer service promised me that they will send me the card within 48 hrs. Unfortunately it was not happened. Almost one week was over and my wallet was penniless as my account was in inactive state from the day I placed the request. I started calling them everyday morning and afternoon. Most painful part is that every time when I called, a new officer picked up the phone and I need to tell them the whole story. Every time they promised me that by that day evening they'll deliver my card but nothing happened. I asked them for courier details and consignment number so that I could collect it from the courier service. They were not willing to do the same according to them it's against Citibank service. It was almost 20 days over. Lastly I gave the STD call to Chennai customer service and believe it or not within an hour they called me back and gave me the details about courier service phone number and consignment number and within an hour they delivered the card in my residence address. I really thankful to Chennai customer service and this Bangalore Customer service is worst ever I face.

Second one is about hutch.

They are simply worthless. Last year around in the month of September, at that I was having hutch prepaid connection. One day  around 12.30AM  suddenly I received a SMS that Rs50/- had been deducted from your account. I called the customer service  and asked about this. According to them it was a change of plan for hutch so they had done that. My question is , without taking my permission how could have they changed my plan.

TC...we Indians are neither yet ready for privatisation  nor professionalism. I have cancelled my CitiBank credit card last year itself, as soon as I found that you have to do bargaining for renewal charges. Something like fish market.

SBI has been installing ATMs at many nukkads. Find out...how many are out of order! Another colleague of mine was citing the other day, the saga of  horrible service of ICICI Bank!

BSNL strike again highlighted how much vulnerable our Govt. is. The authorities do not have the guts of a Ronald Reagan or closer our home, Jayalalitha. These overpaid fat cats should have been dealt with in a very stern manner and the Govt. should have taken a tough stand against those, i wolud rather say, "antisocial" workers.
My personal experience with this deptt. for the last 5 years makes me strongly believe that they are just good for nothing.

It's really our misfortune that we have to deal with all these problems on a day-to-day basis. The worst part is there's no alternative either live with it or leave. At least in private companies there's someone who will listen to you and also you get to choose the best out of worst  ;).
Has anyone called or visited the customer service of BSNL or any other utility office lately. Trust me I felt like they are doing a favor providing me those services for which I am burning my blood to earn money. There should be a law against any utility service employees going for strike or trying to disrupt most essential service and most important is some authority that will make sure that law is getting implemented.

To add one more string to this frustration, in the past there are examples of those striking employees are getting paid for those striking days. So, does this mean strike is also a kindda public service?

This reminds me of Hindustan Petroleum commercial "Mujhe Change chahiye" Haaaa…haaaaa..  ;D
