You probably have not noticed in the first mail that I inherite a mixed culture of both the places east bengal and west bengal.So I think I possess the right to talk about both kinda whether it is write or wrong.But sad thing is that you considered me as a pure kolkataian and trying to discourage me.I know that pure bangals are very dangerous to talk to but I stil took the risk of talking to them because I love them personally.My mother as well as my heart-throb both were one of u.But I have lost both of them!!But still want to have relationship with bangals and that's why I am here.

But don't you think that it is the reason for the slump in west bengal.Once when Dr. B.R.Roy was the chief minister we were top in each and every department in our country.Previously we used a proverb

But now West bengal stands 11th in literacy rate in whole India.And one of the most unemployed state,no work culture,no company wants to come and establish a branch office in WB(except Wipro probably) and who were there previously revert back to mumbai(eg. Phillips).Still we face Traffice Jam,Bandh,roads are unsafe to use,anybody can go underground any time during rainy season,air pollution,sound pollution(during pujas mostly),water pollution(eg.arsenic).I admit that ghoti's are good for nothing but is that what bangals can do? ;D ;D |

It is a very old topic and has no longer any charm left in it. Only a few retired oldies might mutter a little of it once in a while. But certain facts ...No one probably gives a damn about whether you are a Bangal or a Ghati . Bangals are opportunist . They had to be right ..coming from a different land after losing all that belonged to them.
And like the whole community , bangal girls are opportunist ..hardly fall for any "Infatuation" . Ghati girls on the other hand are easy pick . You can very well use the bengali adjective " Atel " for them.

Don't boast of your gentlemen, I had been in silchar for 4 years, and I know how gentleman you all are in comparisons to Kolkatans.
Don't tell me how well-mannered your canterwalla or autowallahs are, don't tell me how well-mannered your dukanwalas or businessmen are. The Town guys in REC behaves as if REC is their father's property, but when they visit Kolkata after their graduation they became "Chuhas" asking for help and mercy. Those Town guys in REC does all kinds of dadagiri in REC and Threatens their fellow students " Town-e gele dekhilimu !!!" but when these jobless souls visits other cities they cry for our help.
Your Cultural bankruptcy and frustrations is shown when you make the thread " why syheti girls speak in kelu.. etc" the most popular thread. The popularity of that thread shows your low level of self confidence.
You people had actually become "frog in the well" by virtue of living in the darkest corner of north east. Look at your own city, look at your own culture, look at your own people and try to improve them, instead of always criticizing West Bengal.
Boast of your city, boast of your culture all right, but don't dare to challenge the culture from which you have borrowed your existence.

What is "kelu" by the way ??? heard it for first time in Silchar. We speak Bengali, that's it. The same Bengali you read in Anandabazar or Desh, the same Bengali you listen to as in Satayjit Ray or Ritwik ghatak's film or the Same bengali you sing as in Rabindrasangeet, Nazrul geeti , Suman Chatterjee or Mohiner Ghoraguli.
Any doubt about that ????
Your constant Kolkata and Westbengal bashing provoked me to post in this thread. You people are always criticisizing West Bengal but you don't realize that they have not done any harm to you.
I rememeber 6-7 years ago when there was a Mohon Bagan vs East Bengal exhibition match in Silchar, the madness for ticket in Silchar.
Also, I remember during that time a leading Silchar Daily using the Slogan " Bhogoban chara aar kau ke Bhoy kore na", which is actually coined by "Bartaman" the Daily from Kolkata. Don't know if that Silchar daily is still using the phrase !!!
By the way, Senmohasay, don't you have any thing better to do ?? are you going to start a thread "Hindu O Muslim" next??

The only thing I have objection is, the people in this forum is showing a lot of aggression and spitting venom against Westbengal. Not only in this topic, but it started from the very begining. You must realize that people in westbengal has not done any harm to you, and they probably are ignorant about your existance.
Just as you are sensetive about your culture, you must respect other people's culture too.
You need not agree on what way you are indebted to Bengali culture, We also don't care about that. But before you spit venoms on bengali culture and bengali language , take a break and think deeply most probably you are insulting your own mother.

sylheti gal thread was a hilarious one where we had a lil fun with our gals and at the same time we tried to remind 'em not to forget our own language and identity. but here also u found some fishy stuff involving ur wb. i dont blame u, its ur complex that governs ur activities. always.
i remember one of my kelu friend told me lord swaraj paul, kapil dev, etc r all bengalis. think of something else other than bengal and bengalis. do u know ppl laugh at u. it hurts me as i m a part of this bengali commune. |

By the way People all over the country recognise REC Durgapur and JU,
but sad to say they will still ask you REC Silchar ?? where is it ???
Look at the status of campus interviews in REC Silchar, you will know. It would have been much better if it were REC Guwahati rather than REC silchar.
Read for yourself the status of Assam university in Today's Times of India. And see how you have spoiled a Central university.
