I m back with a new topic bout cell phone service !!!
Does Silchar need a cell phone (GSM) operator ? ? ? ? ? ?
Cellphone is a very common thing now and anyone and everyone can easily afford one. So in this development can Silchar be far behind ? ? ? ? Silchar has a descent no. of population so do the people need a cellphone ? ? ? ? |

Answer is "no" without slightest of doubt.
What we really need are broader roads , some industry to provide employment , getting rid of corrupt politicians which would automatically reduce corruption in public places , better schools at primary and secondary levels , better road and rail connectivity with other places in the country , stop infiltration from neighbouring Bangladesh which could unfortunately lead it to become a second Kashmir , getting rid of power cuts and many many things more.
Let us talk practical. If some provider invests here , he has to provide services at a sky rocketing price to have a return for his investment , taking into consideration the population of the town. Who will then afford it ? I guess they will be corrupt politicians , their favoured chamchas , corrupt businessmen who get unfair deals from their masters (whose ass they lick) holding high positions in politics and bureaucracy . Their kids freaking out with cell phones and hanging out in pubs , would be the last thing that I would like to see.
Let us first think about the basics , let there be infrastructure and good environment for business and commerce. Cosmopoliton cuture and cell phone culture will then automatically follow suit. |

Correct me if I am wrong. Isn't telecommunication network also a part of infrastructure? Cell network is a party of telecommunication network. It might be costly initially but in the long run the price will go down. Once it stabilizes, common man will benefit from it.
One basic requirement of development is good and cheap telecommunication.
Besides, if you scare the cell providers away, how will help in building roads?
