you need to fill up all entries at one go. You are allowed to submit multiple entries but only the last entry will be valid. Only prob is once the world cup starts, for some matches ( matches which are over and matches which are on the next day) a default choice will be marked and you cannot change that. Default entries are the ones that are shown as selected now.
So best way to play is go for one entry before the cup starts. Then if all the default guys keep winning you can submit newer entries based on team perforamnces BUT YOU WILL NOT WIN those 5 bonus points which one gets if he submits before the cup starts ....

You may be a BETA !!! But to get that extra U , u need to win the contest .... for the "BETA-U re ba" ... its all on the U !!!! So now its on U ;D plus you get reba with it too :) [ no pun intended]
About the forfeited matches ... well nice point. If you go for a NONE ( that is the third choice), well that covers all matches in which the points are shared. But you are right, for matches forfeited, say NZ v/s Kenya , if NZ doesnot play Kenya, Kenya wins and al those who go for Kenya get 9 points and get a big lead in the "Beta-u Re Ba" contest , even greater than the bonus points which the users submitting their entries before the start of the cup.
So for matches which are forfeited, NO POINTS WILL BE AWARDED TO ANY CONTESTANT for that match!!! But for rain disturbed matches, points will be awarded for he will be a real Beta-u-reba who can guess that a match will be rain disturbed before the day of the match !!!!
[ feel free to submit as many entries you like but only the last entry will be taken in consideration. After start of first macth you no longer get the bonus 5 points.]
ALSO FRIENDS WHEN YOU SUBMIT YOUR ENTRIES, IN THE NAME FIELD you can add a password or unique key which you will use in your later entries(if any).
Yes Jimut we can use the title "Manchhi go MAI" for female winners. But Bhodro Mohila :) .... hehehe ... the female will win the title even if she is obhodro ;D

Well let's start discussing the entries that we may have put in... yes we are not players but as fans we can discuss the sport that we love, as best we can just for the heck of it !
Say for the match between India and Australia on 15th Feb...right now there seems to be a 50-50 split in the betting game of "Beta-u ba".... well, I put my chips on India but it appears that some have put there stock on Australia....
Can India do it ? I believe they can.... India has a pretty decent record against Australia winning 3 out of their last 6 ODI matches but Australia is the most formidable opponent and only the most steely minded can challenge them and in our "Dada and team" we have the best bet.What say you ? |

Well I dont know if I am allowed to participate... but I think India has quite a definite chance to win against Australia.
Friends
To win this contest, atleast to move to the Super Six stage, you need to vary slightly with others and be correct on that. The variations I am seeing are mostly in chotu matches .. like Namibia v/s Holland ... jabardast variations ... also like Pak v/s Zim ... as thats the last match ... some people prefering to go ZIMs way. But the real jackpot will be if you can get more than 7 points in a game and for that you need to be a GURUDEV !!! If you can predict a Namibia win against England ;D
A better option is to visit weather websites and see the weather forecast for the matches and go for NONE the last choice in that particular match. And who knows if the weather forecast is right and the rain is bad enough to abandon the match you may end up with 5 extra points !!!
Do not waste your time checking the news to find out who will forfeit which match .. say England doesnot play against ZIM and forfeits .. no need to worry about that ... according to the rules of the contest the match will not be counted in the contest.

According to the Delhi super detective who made Cronje cry, there will be lots of underhand play in South Africa. Hence there is enough probability that chhotu matches would provide interesting finishes.
Good and evil are competing always with each other. When the good comes stronger, evil will also try the level best to come at par. What ever policing is done in South Africa by ICC, the bookies are going to try smarter tricks.

Well West Indies has scored 279/5 which is a very impressive score against SA's bowling lineup and what a start for Brian Lara !!

What a match !!! So with West Indies winning ... the Beta-u-re-ba contest goes for a nice twist !!! So nice start for the contestants who went for WestIndies in the contest!! Also those who join now get SAfrica as the default choice and also lose the bonus 5 points !!!
Nice match ... but very unprofessional performance on the field by the WestIndians ... Dropping 3 easy catches is not what is expected from an international side. But it was an interesting start to the world cup !!!

There couldn't have been a better start to the world cup... Lara's form should be an ominous sign for teams that have to face the Windies. But I was surprised at their choice of only three specialist bowlers which almost proved costly today and may create problems for them.Their batting is in prime form but the bowling and the fielding needs improvement and specially the sudden "brain damage" that happens to their fielders needs to be reduced....today it was Collins taking a few leisurely steps backward onto the ropes to almost gift the match away.What was he thinking ?? ::) |

Ei Kluesner ta bura hoi gese...this must've been the 10th match in my recent memory where he was there at the end, was expected to pull it off for his country, played decently, but still couldn't deliever the final icing on the cake...it really feels bad to see such a player go down to the vagaries of ageing. I guess after that shock tie against Australia in the earlier WC, he has never been the same Zulu again !!!

Anyway, Jayasuriya is showing that he isn't going to be sidelined either.... what an effort and Scott Styris scores another one which goes in vain....this world cup has surely started well for the batsman with centuries all over the place including the Zimbabwe batsman running riot against those hapless Namibians.

What a relief !!! Symonds somehow pulled out Australia ... Shoib looked dangerous in the first spell.... God save India .
But the more interesting thing is Canada beat Bangladesh... they missed their only chance of winning a game after they were gifted the game by Pakistan in the last world cup !!!

Considering same scores...I'm now in Joint 10th position...albeit in another name...
But I hope I remain in the bottom as far as my real name entry is concerned...I've mostly favored India in the last few matches...kintu tara to Namibia chara shobtir loge haarbo...they deserve to...if that makes my points tally even lower, I have no regrets...
I spoilt a perfectly nice Saturday watching the Ind-Aus match...aar khelau dekhtaam nai...duniyaath aro bahut bhala bhala kaaj aase...but maybe shudhu the Ind-Pak match dekhmu...will feel good to see Shoaib and Akram rattle a few timbers !!! Of course, the Indian heroes should give them some time and not edge something to the keeper or the slips before that !! ;D

Aapnar aarekta bok morlo .... What a bumper prediction .. you were the only person who succesfully predicted a Kenya win against Srilanka !!!
Others , dont get surprised .. if you look at Asiti-da's predictions, its quite wierd ... for almost match he predicted exactly the opposite of what was likely to happen ... ;D Buts that not a bad strategy .... hes now in 14th spot ..
I think the match between WI-SRL , IND-PAK and IND-ENG will cause most ups and downs in the Beta-u-reba contest !!

With India defeating England , India has more than 90% of moving to the super six !!! But only 11 of you go to the super six !!! Major changes in positions are taking place each and every day in the Beta-u-reba contest ... And I think the matches Ind-Pak , SRL-WIN are definitely going to matter a lot .. unless we have SRL beating SA or any of the small guys defeating a big guy . Though I would like to see Zim defeat Pak :)

Yday (day b4 the IND-ENG match) Hussain ( ENG captain said something like this : If we find India at 90 for 1 after 15 overs with Tendulkar at 50NotOut , that will be a test of Englands character !!!
I was surprised to see India at 90/1 ( actually later corrected to 91 ) at the end of 15 overs and Tendulkar was batting exactly at 50 NOTOUT !!! Now thats called a prediction ... and he deserved the Beta-u-reba title for today ... :) , some consolation for the losing captain ... ;)

What is the genesis of the name? Tur..may come from Turbo,
jo..? It means replacing b by j. Something to ponder about. May be class mates of Jimut could give some clue. I don't think it has come from Torbuj [or tormuj].

beta u reba contest is hotting up. i am feling so bad that i didnt participate but all the same i am keeping a close watch on it. like the world cup this contest is also set or biting finish. i would congratulate the sidhartha guy for making so many excellent pedictions and i think that he deserves to win. all the best to everyone.
