I think the odds of NERICIQ finals taking place on 27th October are unfortunately higher ...this will surely be bad news...with Pujas ending around 14th Oct, 20th would probably be the maximum amount of time out-station Silcharites ( and most ex-quizzards) will be able to stretch their vacations...I've told the QM about this in my last e-mail...I suggest all members of the quiz-loving fraternity bombard Rajib Saha with a request...let it be on the 20th ONLY !!! I think we should force Ravi-da also...he seems to be the main man as always...Rajib will probably not have a problem with either date as he'll probably be in Silchar till Oct-end...but we'll have to turn the tide somehow if WE are to be a part of the scene...
Personally, I think I can still make it even on the 27th...but that would put a huge strain on my schedule and more importantly, I'll miss out on the company of most of my contemporaries without whom I might as well not be at Nericiq...after all,I'm not participating this time...timepass korar lagiyaa aar picher seat-o boiya faizlaami korar logi manushraou jodi naa thaklo, te aar moja koi ???
So , all of you...use all your sources and try and convince the people responsible to stick to 20th...simply online messages will not do...you'll have to maybe try and speak to some people as well...do whatever you can...Rajib hasn't yet replied to my mail on this topic...obviously he is dependant on the organizers for the final date...so you know where to hit...that's the best gift you can give to yourselves and to me on my birthday !!!! |

We are all waiting eagerly for the return as you can see...kintu ekhon 20th October ta hoileu bhala...I'm in Guwahati right now...but even I'll have some difficulty on the 27th...and the others will definitely be even more inconvinienced...and mots of them would be die-hard quiz fanatics who woulsd probably be the ones waiting most eagerly for this whole show to happen...

The NERICIQ fever has caught us all. It really feels good to get a chance to be a part of the heritage quiz again after a gap of five long years. But it feels all the more good to see the fervor of the people for the event has not diminished the least.
Keeping the above thought in line, JYOTI initially decided to schedule the NERICIQ/CID for the 19th and 20th October. Prelims for the quiz and debate on the 19th and the quiz semi-finals on 20th morning followed by the debate final at 3:00 and the quiz finals once the debate is over. All was fine with this plan except
#1 20th October happens to be Lakshmi Puja Day. And considering that the puja is done in every other home we will have very least attendance. Even sliding the quiz or debate final timings is not going to help us since the puja is done only after the nightfall.
#2 The out of station teams especially JU and Motijheel may find it tough to make it by 19th Oct considering that 15th is Bijoya Dasami.
So we had no other option but to slide the date for the event by a week. I know its going to be very tough for us to stay back that longer. But I request you on behalf of Jyoti to stay back for the extra 4-5 days and be a part of the event this year. No quiz can be a success with out the participation of the audience. My personal plea to you all is use all your connections/methods (SL’s, CL’s, Pl ’s) and convince your employer to let you go for the extra 4-5 days. It would be really nice to have you all in the auditorium. I assure you that you will enjoy the show as much as I will enjoy presenting it to you.
Please stay back ….. hope to meet you all in Silchar during Puja ….

Wonder why u hv to stage it only on a weekend...As it is, its Puja vacation...so weekday or weekend wont make a whole lot of a difference, wud it? Lakshmi Puja...Well thats a genuine ground for poor attendance...Why not 18th and 19th(Friday and Saturday)...How does that sound?

ps-this is something i've said earlier..but could we please have an open quiz before or after nericiq?it will be bad enough to watch from below during nericiq..... |

there is still an outside chance that nericiq will take place within the 20th...from a dependable source...but this is not final...as I said efforts are being made towards that end...so let all of us for whom staying behind the 20th will be not possible, our fingrs better be left crossed. |

Joto din jaar I feel it'll be a real tragedy for me if it's 27th...Rajib's reasons are mostly logical but I can't swallow the Lakshmi Puja one...Ei Lokkhi aar Saraswoti-r to chirokaal jhamela ;D ;D
Actually if Rupam's latest "inside info" is true,it would be really terrific...a Nericiq final and that too on my birthday !! And this year is probably the first time after my first birthday that the english date and Lakshmi Puja have coincided again...Nericiq would be the perfect icing...wonder if that'll finally begin the flow of cash into my life ;D ;D |
