A tribute to A Heart of Gold

At the outset, I apologise for putting this up here, this is a highly personal message that would make sense to only a few users of this board, and I ask the rest to overlook this as an attempt towards remembering a friend, as a tribute to someone who had a heart of gold...and premasish da...let this message remain for one day, clear this up after that.
April 1, 2000 spelled a doomesday for quite  a few of us, batchmates, friends, acquaintances of Arindam Chakravarty, one of the few persons I knew whose heart used to beat at the right pace and at the right place. Arindam, the always jocular, the always mischievous, the always fun loving lad, in his early twenties, made an April fool out of all of us, and freed himself of all earthly bondings this day, two years back.
Anyone and everyone who had a chance of meeting Arindam, better known in college circles as Deli, I am sure must have been moved by this, not only in demise, but in life as well. Five minutes with him, and you would forget all your gloom, a rare talent at being able to turn moods, of being able to make people laugh, an impeccable sense of humour and dry wit coupled with a razor sharp mind, made him someone whose arrival people at every gathering used to look forward to.
We will remember him as a person who could console us in our tormentations, lift our spirits up in our destitute and make us laugh at everything, and someone who was never coy of making jokes at himself, something that we rarely do. Never cynic, never critical of anyone, never having ill feelings towards anyone, always helpful, always compassionate, thats what Arindam was, liked by everyone, a friend to all. Such a combination of rare qualities is seldom seen, and his sudden demise only proves the truthfulness of the maxim...Those whom God loves, die young. Probably he is right there now, in the celestial abode, playing the part of the Happy Prince, trying to make everyone smile there.
I use this board to ask everyone who knew him, to stop for a while and say a prayer for his soul, after all we probably will never have another Arindam all our lives.

In midst of all business of life..
The days roll into years ...
We remember the joys and cheers....
Still ..on this day ,every year..
To whom you were beloved and dear..
Feel the pain ..and are in whirlpool of sorrow tears...

Keep radiating the phenomenal cheer which was so abundant with you ..

In tribute ..
