A database for G C College alumni required

G C College is one of the oldest & best college in Assam. It had a glorious past. I am very proud to say that I also graduated from this college. Silchar.com has got database for REC and so on, but there is none for G C College. I am searching for my bygonedays friends from the college & it will be easier if we have a database for this college as well. I look forawrd to get one in future. |

I have also same request to you like Rajat Chakraborty. I am now in Sydney and I am trying to find out my G.C. college friends. It is now became very hard to get names without any G.C. college database. I did my graduation from G.C. college and it was an unforgettable days in my life. |

I guess having a database like that might take some time( as well as server-space ;D )...and whoever told you this site has a database on REC ? It doesn't...You do however have two options:
#1. This site has a database sorted according to different localities of Silchar.So if you happen to know where your friends used to / still stay,and provided they have entered their names, there's a fair chance you might get hold of some people you wish to revive contact with.
#2.You can also try out any of those alumni sites on the net.
http://www.alumni.net has a G.C.College database...a lot many others will also have one I'm sure. You can search by name or year of graduation.

There is a database for REC in the site, along with other localities of Silchar.
The main problem is that I passed out about 15 years back. I can not remember all names or locality/person to search for a friend of G C College. A database would, in such a case, be more useful with informations like major course, if any, hosteler or not, year of graduation etc.
A person staying far away from his home & country may like to make contacts with his friends, obviously. Thanks for suggesting the name of www.alumni.net.

At this point of time adding new databases for all institutions of silchar is not planned. The best thing you can do is : type in the name of your friend and if hes registered in silchar.com his name will pop up. And from the one-line identity you can find where he is. I think that serves the purpose.
Yes REC has a database but thats for the area around REC.
If someone wants to add any new service to the site he/she is welcome. As far as server space is concerned, at present I am paying for atleast triple the space than silchar.com requires just to make sure I do not need to delete the old messages of the MahaAdda.
